Re: SH: A House Of New Friends (Regina/Emma/Spike/etc)

Sarah brightened when Solomon spoke of the book having a message for her. He probably just didn't want her to find vampires to play with that he couldn't kill, but the book could be a worthy distraction. When he only suggested that she look, though, she pouted.
?
"It probably just wants you. It always talks to you more these days. I swear I think she's flirting with you," she said sullenly of the book,?made of the skin and eye of the first ever Sanderson witch.
?
"You're mine and she needs to know it's hands off."
?
Twisting around in his lap she ran her hands up his chest to prove the point. "Too many girls look at you, and if I were more like you I'd just kill them," she said cheerfully.
"But usually it's just too much bother."
?
She rose and? holding out a hand called, "Book!"
?
The half open door to the bedroom they shared banged against the wall as the book flew out, pages waving like wings as it zoomed toward her open hand. Snatching it up?she plopped?herself back down in Solomon's lap. The book snapped closed, covered in human skin with a brown eye blinking up for an instant at Regina then closing again before flickering open to wink broadly at Solomon when? Sarah lifted it to adjust the angle.
?
"So," she said, gesturing from the winking book to her husband.
?
"This distraction?"

Re: SH: A House Of New Friends (Regina/Emma/Spike/etc)

Nodding at Serafina non committal response, Solomon Kane shrugged and regarded his wife with mild concern. When she found things to be boring, she could try to look for excitement in the most unpredictable of ways. Contacting her mother might not be half bad, but Winnifred, that woman was a living tornado that swept all resistance out of its way. Solomon could not say that he relished their exchanges. as helpful as they may be, they left a sour taste in his mouth, reminding him exactly why witches were deemed to be bad, even if he was becoming open to changing his mind.
?
"I think, maybe the? Book had some message for you," he grimly offered, hoping to distract her from the need to entertain herself in the unholiest of ways. "I am not sure if I told you, with all the commotion around us I almost got battle alert, I must admit. Though?it pays to have so many allies, I cannot remember the last time I was surrounded by a similar amount of proud warriors on my team. At any rate, maybe you should check some spells in the Book, to see if it has inspiration for you, or for the family," Solomon wondered indifferently, not wishing to alert Sarah?to his true intent.?

OOC, Oh yeah without Solomon I doubt she could be trusted 0.

?
"Well now it's boring again," Sarah pouted, slumping her back against Solomon's chest and sighed, glancing to their angel benefactor or rather Solomon's.
?

"So now what? Can't you give us something interesting to do," she pouted.
?
"David is off exploring,"? she sulked to Solomon of their son. He was so like his father, hunting down things he felt needed to die, and like them in another small town. Apparently a lot of things went to small towns to hide. If they weren't s serving the master, or of interest or use to her, Sarah had learned not to care who her husband then son decided? needed to die for the good of all.
?
Squirming slightly as thoughts of her sisters filtered in again, as they were often wont to do, Sarah wondered what Mary and Wennie would make of her working with for? an angel. And a strong one at that who could probably do things if Sarah objected too strongly. Sometimes angels were far more frightening than cute little demons, at least for the witch.

Re: SH: A House Of New Friends (Regina/Emma/Spike/etc)

Gabrielle started to question whether it was a sense of insecurity that made him so quick to point out any differences, no matter how small, but at the risk of accomplishing the exact opposite of what her mother intended she kept that observation to herself.

¡°You¡¯re welcome.¡± She didn't feel a need to put in the effort of striking up a real conversation or even offering to tag along. Dealings with the undead always left her on edge. Of course, she knew they weren't all monsters bent on turning all humans into their own personal happy meals but there was just something about them that didn't sit well.

There were looks filled with silent questions being exchanged with her mother as he announced to the room he had no desire to be a part of this fight. It would be easy enough to stop the vampire from leaving but with a shake of her head the archangel conveyed her wishes. The decision one that came as a shock as she knew what her mother had hoped to gain from this venture.

She turned just in time to see Kara leading the blonde out of the living room, no doubt to get her settled because based on Emma¡¯s facial expression throughout their conversation she seemed to need some space. Not that she could blame her, if she was as knew to the whole apocalypse thing as she suspected.

When Sarah seemed unhappy about the departure of Spike she couldn't quite hide her amusement. ¡°Oh, I am sure there will be other¡opportunities. This is Sleepy Hollow after all.¡± And it went without saying that if this town truly was meant to become the battlefield then it stood to reason other supernatural types would in time be drawn here.

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Serafina felt it was the right call to take Emma aside as she looked tired among other things. Hopefully they would be able to find the woman's missing loved ones safe and sound. It was certainly on her growing list of things to do. Her attention quickly turned back to the room, disappointed the vampire felt as he had but the choice to stand and fight had to be his.

She noticed the slight look of disbelief on Regina¡¯s face at Sarah¡¯s reaction to things and offered a shrug to silently convey the simple statement of ¡®it is what is¡¯. Those outbursts no longer surprised the archangel and quite honestly without Solomon¡¯s involvement she didn't know whether she could be a hundred percent trusted.

¡°Honestly¡I don't know.¡± It was difficult to predict whether there would be more guests in the future. She hadn't been expecting the most recent additions but leaving them to fend for themselves against the likes of the horseman and Eve hardly seemed like the right thing to do.

As somewhat of an afterthought she realized he might be referring to those who came to this world with them, an even bigger question mark in itself. ¡°If I don't hear from Liana soon I may be doing a little bit of recon to see what answers can be gotten.¡± What that might entail she couldn't say.?

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

"Yes, your bloody father," Kol growled.
He lifted Hope and nodded to Davina's urging to get out of there.
?
"Lets go, then. Looks like we're paying my eldest brother a visit so he can make his little girl reverse whatever aging spell she's used."
?
Precocious wasn't even the half of it when it came to hope, he mentally grumbled to himself, half annoyed and half proud of her and impressed.
?
No, he and Davina not being able to have kids didn't bother him in the least, he decided dryly.
?
In the back of his mind he'd heard the woman's name, wasn't it Elena's last name she'd used? Interesting he supposed but there were more pressing matters, such as whatever else had Davina so worried. He hated to leave without discovering what the new danger was, but there were surely other ways to discover things that wouldn't put Davina or Hope into any danger...And damn it hadn't they been trying to get the hell out of here?!

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

Davina suddenly became aware that she was staring but couldn¡¯t look away whether from shock or disbelief it was hard to tell. The images of THAT night replaying over and over as if on some constant loop. She saw the car going off Wickery Bridge...watched as it was fully submerged and water filled the inside of the car. There was a look bordering on panic in her eyes as if experiencing the whole thing right along beside the Gilberts.

All but the man seated in the driver¡¯s seat were unconscious as he looked from his wife sitting across from him to the backseat where Elena was someone swam up beside his window getting his attention. Someone she recognized from pictures she¡¯d seen...it was Stefan Salvatore. He tried to save the father but he¡¯d pointed to the backseat insisting his daughter be saved first.

¡°You¡¯re her...Elena¡¯s mother.¡±

Miranda said nothing in spite of knowing that her silence would likely be taken as a silent confirmation. What could she have said? It was difficult convincing a witch who¡¯d done as she suspected this one had of their being mistaken. Her eyes left the girl¡¯s face moving to that of her companion who now demanded her name. With a reluctant sigh she responded. ¡°Miranda...Gilbert.¡±

_______

Hope knew better than to do two spells that required so much power back to back, however, the situation seemed to call for it. But all the intel she¡¯d been able to gather was vague at best because whatever was tucked away inside of that grave was old...like...really old and not into sharing at all. ¡°My father...¡± Those words were spoken with the sadness of someone who¡¯d lost theirs.

It hardly seemed fair that she¡¯d lost him so soon after getting him back. Years with her father were lost because he along with his siblings had taken the Hollow into themselves in order to save her life. Oh, sure...he¡¯d been angry when at fifteen years old she¡¯d taken it back into herself but concern had weighed far more heavily on him.

She hadn¡¯t wanted to die. She¡¯d just wanted her family back...to save ¡®always and forever¡¯. But once again he¡¯d put her first...done what he deemed necessary to keep her safe...to keep her alive and now he wasn¡¯t. Four years passed since she¡¯d buried both parents and one of her uncles. She didn¡¯t know if she could prevent any of it from happening but she sure as hell intended to do everything in her power.

_______

Davina looked around at the cemetery seeing the figures again made her even more ready to get the hell out of here. ¡°We should do that, like, now.¡± She didn¡¯t want to stick around this place any longer suddenly feeling a chill that went straight through to her bones. Rubbing at her arms as if trying to warm herself.?

_______

Miranda seconded that as she wasn¡¯t interested in sticking around to find out what was next in their ¡®bag of tricks¡¯.

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

"She had to have used some sort of aging spell. A really advanced game of playing grown up, I must say but not..."Kol's explanation to Davina concerning Hope's suddenly aged state broke off when the tree nearly fell on her and one of the previously vanished figures, perhaps? Just sprang from seemingly no where as only a vampire could do and dragged her out of harm's way.
?
?
With Hope still in his arms, he sprinted to Davina's side faster than the mortal eye could trace. He wanted to be there if...if anything happened. If lightning struck? If someone tried? to attack her or take her from him? All of that? Hell he didn't know but he'd be ready for it.
?
"Who the hell are you," he demanded of Maranda.
?
?
"And lets get out of here while we sort...whatever all this is. I suggest somewhere safe from lighting. We have a car and we'll all fit inside. Hope your father is going? to bloody kill you. He's committed murder for less," he said dryly.

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

Hope stared up at the sky as lightning streaked across it with a sense of dread as omens went this couldn't be a good one. Casting a quick look around as she tried to determine whether the brewing storm was limited to their immediate location. But her little investigation was brought to a halt when her uncle lifted her from the ground, the action one she would have protested had she been stronger.

¡°Done? I haven't¡¡± She started in confusion, half thinking he held her responsible for whatever was ¡®incubating¡¯ inside that grave or at the very least the beginning of a storm that appeared to be limited to the cemetery. Her expression slowly becoming one more of surprise at realizing he¡¯d used her name. She hadn't been expecting anyone to figure out who she was or maybe it was that little slip of the tongue that clued him in. Whatever the case the young witch was relieved to already have someone in her corner.

¡°I think so.¡± She said deciding to answer his second question first in order to ease his mind and also to buy her a little more time to work up an explanation. ¡°I just¡overdid it a little.¡± Her eyes moved to the grave once more and quickly back again as she didn't much care to dwell on what she'd seen.

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Davina quickly turned in several small circles as she desperately searched for any trace of the three cloaked figures. Their sudden appearance and the manner in which they chose to fling the other witch left her severely on edge. Carefully lifting one hand to shield her eyes against a bright flash of lightning. What had they stumbled into?

She looked to where Kol had gone surprised at the name he¡¯d spoken. ¡°Hope?¡± Her tone mildly disbelieving as she figured his niece to be about seven years old and this young woman looked to be closer to her own age. How was that possible? Quietly sifting through what knowledge she'd gained while trapped on the ancestral plane and drew a blank.

There was a loud crack of thunder half a second before she was snatched out of the way of a falling tree that narrowly missed the rows of tombstones she stood between. ¡°Thank¡¡± She trailed off suddenly becoming aware that her ¡®hero¡¯ was not who she expected, a realization accompanied by a series of images and the sense that this woman could be trusted. ¡°you.¡± She finished after a moment.

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Miranda quickly pulled her hands back at seeing a look in the young woman's eyes that mirrored that of a friend. Witch? She thought that had to be the case with the similarities or maybe it was the shock of having been moved so quickly. She couldn't tell for sure. ¡°I am sorry. It's just¡the tree was falling¡and you¡¡± Stopping as it occurred to her the girl was about Elena's age or appeared to be, a thought that left the vampire missing her daughter even more.

Coming out of the shadows to keep the girl from being crushed had contradicted every choice she'd made during any of her past visits to Mystic Falls. It was just better if all of her old friends and surviving family believed her dead. Or so she told herself.

Her gaze flicking over toward the grave next to Grayson¡¯s where she was supposed to be buried. If he saw her now as one of the things they'd been raised to hate he¡¯d not hesitate to drive a stake through her heart and perhaps it was something she should have done herself years ago.

It was then that she realized the darkness had chosen her empty grave. But why?

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

The woman, also watching as they were appeared to be a vampire. Frustrated, Kol was divided between speaking to her or addressing? the kneeling? young woman who appeared to either be causing the fuss or trying to stop it...
?
?
Of course there were 2 people. He and Davina, so technically they could separate and each deal with one of these two women. Mathematically it worked out perfectly, but if Davina got the dangerous one and Kol was occupied or distracted with the other, it wouldn't work for him. Losing Davina again wouldn't work for him. Allowing anything to ever happen to her wouldn't work for him.
?
The he got a glimpse of the girl's face when she turned to look at him. Klaus couldn't have had another child. And none of the rest of them could! But she did have a family resemblance about the eyes, didn't she? Always one to trust his instincts, he decided then that yes, she did.
?
?
And then she called him Uncle Kol. Hope was an extremely powerful witch. What if she had done some sort of spell that aged her in an attempt? to fix something. If so she was still just a little girl and in more danger than she could surely handle. Rushing forward he scooped her into his arms. "Hope! What have you done," he asked, worry and alarm combining? in his tone. "And are you alright?"
?
As he spoke, he spared a look to ensure Davina was still close to him, then cast his gaze about for the other watcher woman while brushing Hope's hair back from her face.

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

¡°But I¡¡± Davina started to protest only to realize that doing so would mean him doing whatever he deemed necessary to keep her from going inside that cemetery to investigate. It was moments like these when the young witch felt conflicted, a part of her wanting to express her own concerns for Kol in spite of knowing he wasn't so easily killed. ¡°Okay, I will stay behind you.¡± It was her hope that was a promise that could be kept.

She interlaced her fingers with his, shooting a sidelong look in his direction as the corners of her mouth turned up into a smile. It didn't last more than a few seconds as it felt somehow necessary to keep a straight face as they walked through the cemetery gate. Just off to one side she noticed a woman standing there almost perfectly still as if trying to avoid detection but couldn't make out any details to speak of.

Her eyes then moved to the figure kneeling at the foot of a grave with hands resting on the ground in a way that suggested the young woman might be working a spell of some kind. Had she summoned it? Or was she what they'd seen? Or maybe she was just looking into it the same way they were? All good questions.

¡°Um¡hello?¡± She wished she'd sounded a bit more confident in her attempt to get the attention of the other witch as they got closer. It was becoming more apparent that she was struggling like one often does when either over exerting themselves via a powerful spell or coming up against someone stronger. ¡°Maybe you should¡.¡± Looking to Kol and back again. ¡°stop.¡±

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Hope refused to give up even when her spell began taking a heavier toll as her efforts were met with an increasing amount of resistance from whoever or whatever was hiding within the confines of this grave. There for a second she appeared on the verge of collapse but pushed through. Dimly aware of a familiar voice suggesting that she stop. It sounded like¡.Davina.

She had to know whether this¡thing, whatever it was, posed a threat. But at what cost? If it forced her to use too much magic at once¡.now there was a thought she didn't care to finish. Of course, there was more to her than the average witch what with her being the tribrid and all. But that was no reason to get too cocky. Besides if she got herself killed solving this mystery then her parents along with her uncle would still die.

She supposed it was the stubbornness that ran in the Mikaelson family that made it hard to abandon this endeavor without gaining answers or rather more detailed ones that could be of some use. Leaning forward she nearly toppled over, quickly steadying herself as best she could though becoming more noticeably weaker.?

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

¡°You NEED to stop.¡± Davina said more firmly, a look of concern on her face. Part of her suspected that the last of her three theories might be more accurate. This could be someone either Caroline or Alaric had brought to town to help safeguard and teach the children at the Salvatore Boarding School. She looked once more to Kol then back to their mystery witch.

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Hope fell forward the only thing keeping her from face planting was the fact her hands were still resting flat against the ground. Whatever had chosen this grave as its own personal incubator wasn't interested in having anyone knowing too much too soon. She weakly looked back over her shoulder to where the voice had come from, a look of recognition on her face. ¡°Uncle Kol?¡±?

The words left her mouth before she'd had the chance to think them through or perhaps in her weakened state her mind was playing tricks on her. Either way she hoped her healing abilities would help with having over exerted herself magically. As the tribrid shakily rose to her feet she was thrown by this unseen force against one of the tombstones a couple rows away as three cloaked figures approached.?

She winced as her side hit the edge of the tombstone then fell to the ground at its base. Her eyes flashing a golden yellow, like those of a wolf, when they opened again and almost instantly seeking out the responsibility party. The sight of those figures flickering then disappearing in a swirl of black smoke was unsettling and made her think back to a few of the ¡®creatures¡¯ who Malivore had released when going after the artifacts. But it couldn't be that.?

¡°What the¡¡± Her expression one of confusion, having been preparing herself for a fight up until that moment. But she had a strange sense they hadn't gone far as their actions seemed almost like a warning. Could it be they were protecting the contents of the grave? Or were they trying to keep someone from raising it? She supposed both were possibilities.?

Whose side were they on?

She caught a glimpse of rapid movement from the corner of her eye causing her head to whip around as she looked in that direction. Remembering the woman she'd spotted watching her before this all started she figured she had to have been a vampire to clear the area that fast. Question was, did she have anything to do with the party crashers?

The wind began to pick up as lightning flashed across a sky that until a second ago showed no signs of a coming storm. Little did she know this one was limited to above the cemetery. ¡°That¡can't¡be¡good.¡±

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

"Deal, but if there is any trouble, you stay behind me," Kol said firmly, more than ready to apply vampiric speed to get them out as she suggested. He wasn't one to run from a fight most times, but if it meant keeping his girl safe, it was an entirely different matter and he'd never lose her again. Never.
?
?
?
He reached for her hand as they moved toward the cemetery, linking his fingers with hers as his gaze searched the dusk ahead for a glimpse of?whatever was in? there. "Looks?like a girl, I think," he murmured.?Not until they slipped inside could he tell for sure, though. And something about her? looked familiar. He remained silent as they approached, leaving the social niceties to his witch as she was so much more of a people person.
?
He could charm when he wanted, but just now, with all his plans being disrupted by more headache inducing magical?weirdness, he just wasn't feeling charming. Instead he'd stick with the roll of strong silent protector.

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

¡°I don't know. Maybe if I could figure out what magic was used¡I could come up with a way of tracking them down or at the very least identifying anyone recently resurrected.¡± Davina had doubts as to whether that was even possible and if it was whether she had enough power to pull it off. But the longer she considered the idea it started to feel pointless because most of his family's enemies he¡¯d recognize on sight but then she wouldn't so there was that.

She let the compliment distract her from growing concerns about who else might eventually come calling. Smiling as she looked over at him without a word being spoken mostly because she didn't quite know how to respond. But the hand on her shoulder and his words helped calm the storm brewing within her mind.

At his question she allowed herself to look toward the cemetery then back again, silently hoping this next decision wouldn't be one she'd soon regret. ¡°How about this¡we go check it out and if things get too hairy then you use that speed of yours to get us the hell of there?¡± She hoped that was an acceptable plan because keeping her curiosity in check long enough for anyone else to get there probably wouldn't happen.

She'd already started towards the cemetery gate.?

Locked Re: Go To Hell (Castiel/Halbrek)

"I know you didn't know," the angel of the Lord easily agreed. "If you knew, you would have told me," he added reasonably. Not certain about the necessity of his last statement, he figured his partner may need some reassurance regardless of his faith in her.
?
"Baby being like the apple seed, and father. that sounds familiar. I don't know what you mean by that precisely, but it does...oh. Like the fruit of the Tree. I see. Well, there is some connection, I cannot swear to understand it fully,?perhaps if you share your insight with me. What do you mean by that, Halbrek, Halbrek?!" His tone rose from simply questioning to alert.
?
Castiel had intended to let Halbrek have her will. But as she clearly became incapacitated, he realized he had no more choices left. Something had to be done, and he was out of his wits. Being an angel, he was used to doing what was best for?his charges. Not what they wished for themselves. Right now, Halbrek became, in his mind, one of his charges. She wasn't there to protect herself, so he had to help her our. Even against her will.
?
"Sam. Cordelia, your help is needed," he?decided to try, hoping that Aohila had not crafted any blocks that would prevent him from transporting his favorite humans. If it worked, at least they would have more of?a warning then he did, when the demon queen had pulled him down into the bowels of her cursed Hell. ? ?

Locked Re: Go To Hell (Castiel/Halbrek)

"I didn't know, Castiel I swear," Halbrek managed, concerning their child.
?
?
Though he surely was aware of that fact she felt the need to say it again. Because they didn't trust one another? No. Because angels and demons didn't trust one another...Yet she'd always trusted him. Struggling to think...why was thinking so hard? Yet there were so very many important things that very much needed thinking about. At least 2 very important things. But she was so tired and dizzy...Had she really thought she could drink? Well that idea was out.
?
?
She found herself clinging to Castiel's arms and sagging against his chest bonelessly. "Poetry? No..."She laughed shortly struggling once more to think. "Him rambling on about Jobe and his god weren't helping. She wasn't trying to lose everythinglike...well most of the people in those silly bible stories.
?
?
"Father...the tree...the apple...the seed," she struggled, frowning, gritting her teeth as she struggled with the concept the roiled below the surface of her mind. "Our baby...he's like the appleseed...from the tree I think...somehow."
?
Then she processed what Castiel had said earlier. "He's a boy?" How had he known. Had the demon queen said? She'd been unaware, busy screaming and being tormented as she was.
?
"He's important, our baby...the tree..."
?
?
that was an important thing. Weren't there? two though? Or had she already covered the other one? Why was she so very drained and weak and tired? Sighing she closed her eyes and sank against Castiel. No more thoughts.

Locked Re: Go To Hell (Castiel/Halbrek)

"I was not truly hurt. She is strong, and conniving. She can make the most out of the resources she has, limited or not, perhaps I am not the most suitable angel to reflect on such. But I don't think she can break me regardless. Whether because she hasn't tried her best, that is possible. Or because I have been captured before, by those who enjoyed the process of expressing their outrage against a usually superior enemy. I wouldn't go so far as to say I have gained some experience and immunity. Perhaps I have,
?
Though I hesitate to say so, the factor that could have been the most painful to me, perhaps one she would have hoped to have been so, was instead a source of marvel and awe. I am sorry if that is still to painful for your to contemplate, I am aware of how it could look. But really, I cannot get over it. We...the two of us...have a child. It is...beyond words. Yes, I know it?can be?a source of leverage for her, and pain for you. For me as well. Yet I have learned to think of things differently. Perhaps, our Father's test of Job was not truly?for him, but for us, angels who need it more. I know I learned a few things differently then. You might not appreciate the lesson, I don't know that Raphael or Uriel enjoyed it either. But I learned something that day. How to look at it from a different perspective. Not only as a source of anguish, but as potential for a better future. I think that made me into a better warrior for my side.
?
And I do believe we can do something about it. Maybe not now, maybe not even soon, but something. To make our child better, to establish some relationship, to rescue him from Her clutches. I do believe in all of this, and because of that, my anguish is not as great as she might be hoping?for it to be, even if it is there. But physical pain, I'll get over it. That was just a sign of desperation on her part, I believe," Castiel shrugged, pointing roughly at the chest area on his human host. There was an ache in there, after her, but an insignificant one, as far as he was concerned.
?
"What a charming poetry," the angel of the Lord commented, wondering if Halbrek took the blow even harder than he'd expected. "As for the tree, yes, I feel something growing, and I am not sure it is a good sign. It is not the same kind of growth, oh I don't know. I don't experience it as a tree growing exactly, but as a military maneuver,?in my capacity as the angel of war. It might have been a distraction. Might even be the kind that Lucifer was talking about.
?
If I remember correctly, it has been a while ago, when Gadreel reported from the Garden to the First Squadron, he'd described the?Tree as being alive, and still growing. As some kind of potential, greater than Tree should display. As... a source of power or some such. I think Gabriel was gone back then, and his second in command in charge simply dismissed the report. He wasn't the only one. We have all believed Father merely made the Tree special. It kind of made sense that he would invest it with greater power. We had all assumed it was Father's Tree, of course. Well I don't know what Michael thought or knew, I was beneath his notice back then and?never asked. But what Lucifer said was...unnerving, and intentional of a distraction or coincidence, we?were unable to stop the growth in time, to observe when it?all started changing. So, I think you're right, we probably were too distracted. I hope She is not working for the other side, whoever the other side may be, because that would make rather powerful," Castiel uncomfortably admitted.?

Locked Re: Go To Hell (Castiel/Halbrek)

"I didn't want you hurt," Halbrek insisted. Knowing that he'd have taken that and more for her twisted her heart because hurting him was the opposite of what she wanted...Unlike many in their place. But would she not suffer with him if an angel tormented him? Of course she would. Sagging against him she closed her eyes.
?
?
To call Lucifer or to wait...too many dangers and implications.
"Says he reckons I'm a water? color stain...He says I run and that I run from him in vane. He didn't see me watching from the arrowplane. He wiped a tear then threw away our apple seed."

The tree he wanted them to watch...she knew that should matter...And she had attempted to avoid Lucifer for a very long time..."I didn't want to be in any of it, not even for him." she sighed, closing her eyes. Castiel likely understood exactly what she was saying...trying to say, not wishing to say. Lucifer was fallen to earth long ago, and beyond. She was of the Earth...In his passing, his daughter as much as anyone was.
?
"The tree...Do you think she used our distraction to do something," she asked Castiel.
And if so what to do about it? She mentally struggled to gather herself, to restore herself, and still just wanted to drink...not a good idea though even if it wouldn't really do much for her.

Locked Re: Go To Hell (Castiel/Halbrek)

Castiel reluctantly nodded his understanding. He did not know if Halbrek was making the best choice possible, but could not blame her under the circumstances. "I could try to call Lucifer instead of you," he dubiously suggested. "After all, an angel of the Lord might be less traceable than a demon?initiating a contact. Our channels of communication are somewhat different. But?if Lucifer can still be in some danger because of the attention drawn to him, I suppose that would not work either.
?
Very well, drinking it is then. As for the other, well, I've had greater pain before. This as more of a psychological and emotional pressure, and it wasn't pleasant, not any more than the physical element. But definitely tolerable, especially in such a worthy company. I have no regrets and would take more of the same repeatedly. Your very presence gave me comfort and I am sorry that I wasn't?there for you in a similarly comforting way from the start. If I could spare you that pain, take it upon my own shoulders, I would," Castiel earnestly reassured. ? ?

"I want Lucifer...But I don't know how safe it is to call him,"Halbrek managed, then remembering she was a war demoness and not a wimp, she rose slowly and stiffly, teeth grinding all the while. "What I want is to go to a bar and try to get drunk. If I drink enough...if we drink enough...perhaps we can manage. No, Castiel my love I don't wish to see your human pets. I want to drink until I forget that she got her hands on me again...and hurt me...I want to forget that she tore our baby right out of me that I was somehow unaware of carrying."
?
She.would.not.cry. Instead she clutched Castiel's arm for all she was worth and struggled to remain upright. "And Castiel...I love you...for staying with me...I am so sorry she got you and dragged you into this."
Would that be as easy to say if the situation were less screwed? Perhaps.

Locked Re: Go To Hell (Castiel/Halbrek)

Castiel slowly nodded at Halbrek's objection. Yes, he should have known that, he realized with some regret. If anybody could know witches between them, it might actually and not too surprisingly, be him instead. And yet, nothing he did was working. A new plan had to emerge, somehow.
?
"I have tried to capitalize on the energy of the sacrifice embedded in this land, but it has not worked out the way I had hoped," the angel of war grimly admitted. "It's like a sacrifice went the wrong way somehow, against the grain. It's like it was...oh...maybe it was like the process of your healing. Like what she did to you. It's as if healing causes further draining instead. I don't understand this parlor trick, but then I am no Raphael. Gabriel likely has enough power to fix it without being a healer himself, but he has been gone on some mysterious mission.
?
I don't really know who that leaves. There is Crowley, I heard he is open to negotiating, only not sure what he can do that I cannot know. Perhaps if he has better resources and understand the demonic essence better than myself..." Castiel slowly speculated, his face unchanging as another idea came to him.
?
"Alternatively, I could whisk away Sam and Cordelia here. I know you don't have faith in humans, but I have had reasons to be impressed with them. Sam is most resourceful, and Cordelia has a psychic connection to the higher realms. I don't want to put greater stress?on you, you already had enough. Is it something you are comfortable with, dealing with humans, or do you prefer to risk summoning?your great patron?after all," Castiel wondered, not truly sure which option he might prefer himself. ????

"I know no witches. I am not overly social, r remember,S" Halbrek managed weakly.

It was disturbing that Cas didn't know what was done to her. It hurt and she was weak and light headed...
?
"I'm so sorry...Why can't we just? be left alone," she added, tears suddenly springing to her eyes. Sadness, rage, fear it was all there and she hated feeling any of it. Those were feelings for others.
?
When Castiel wondered who she knew who may help she considered Gabe but then if he could Castiel would've suggested him first for? the 3 were friends. "Father," she managed, referring to Lucifer and not wishing to directly use the name.
"But he won't be pleased so perhaps we shouldn't. Perhaps if I just rest I'll recover."
?
She'd never been hurt like this so honestly didn't know, but she assumed she had to heal eventually.
