Re: Brushless mini lathe motor torque chart.
I did find a graph for VFD aka brushless motors.??
There two charts one showing at giving frequency the other chart and different frequency/rpm high and low speed.?
?
?
This on the DC pm motor.
Note high speed on this is switch high on left and low on right
?
?
By comparing the charts you figure the correct replacement motor.

Re: "Jupiter 1" Cutting wheel
Sharpen the "B" face first and see if that doesn't get the job done. if not then sharpen the ?"side. Good luck Johannes!? ?Bill in Boulder On Tue, Jul 30, 2024 at 1:14?AM T via <tracyallenranson=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: "Jupiter 1" Cutting wheel
I would recommend making an indexable jig or make a mandrel to hold the cutter in a Spindex, mounted on the bed of a mill, set the proper angles for the sharping process, use a diamond wheel mounted in a mill to sharpen the part.? Some of those angles on the cutting wheel really look beat up. ? Setting up the part for sharpening will require a bit of ingenuity.? There’s many ways to sharpen the blades.? If it were me I would just junk the thing and replace it with something brand new. Have A Great Day?? Tracy Ranson On Mon, Jul 29, 2024 at 8:12?PM Johannes via <johannes=[email protected]> wrote:

"Jupiter 1" Cutting wheel
开云体育
My "Jupiter 1"? pencil sharpener?has a 45 mm wheel for cutting.
However, the cuttings are not very good now after many years in use.
So, I am asking you for advice on how to scarp the edge.
The scarp edge of the knife is being a little bit round.?
Look at the pictures,?
Shall I scarp side A or B ?
Ps. Thanks to all for advice on how to make the 2 missing screws.

Try this almost all fire hydrant use LH pipe threads but hose are different sizes
The hydrant manufacturers just changed have change the one brass part for different hose sizes.

It is something you every day and knows of threads.

Re: Jupiter 1 , pencil sharpener
开云体育Interesting . MY tap set has all 8 of the pitches in Pierre's list below , that set only goes up to 12 mm .? It ca,e to be @ my first motorcycle which is right @ that time frame . I can look at just about any SAE bolt & tell ya what pitch it is , I look at a metric & I'm lost . thanks animal On 7/27/24 3:28 AM, Pierre-Raymond

It is problem with old things over 120 years before standards on screws.
?
American and UK you can go more. But need American or UK different thread shape.?
?
Then two ways to go back to the day built or fin. Something close and re-tap hole and usd today's screws.

Re: Jupiter 1, pencil sharpener.
It gives you an idea but it may not be totally accurate. I assume these screws thread into your gauge. Do they seem to fit fairly well with not too much play? If so, I would try a screw that should work in the holes where the missing screws go. You should be able to determine the correct size by the inside diameter of the holes as compared to your gage. It may be that not all the screws used in this item are fine threaded or even imperial. Hope this helps. Paul M |
Re: Jupiter 1 , pencil sharpener
开云体育In addition, if you turn your own screws with an imperial lathe, make sure that you use a 60° tool, NOT 55°, otherwise, especially with? small screws, it will easily break.

Re: German screws / pencil sharpener
开云体育Hi Dave. I’m in the UK. I left school with an engineering qualification, then it was imperial measurement. So the 2 missing screws have to be there. So is this correct: 100 years old Hamburg tool factory used UTS. Johannes Lavoll. |
