Stuart Score steam engine.
I scored a Score at a recent auction.
The materials kit is complete.
It is missing all the paperwork.
I can get most of the information from the 10H kit.
?
But, I need the section on the crank shaft and the main body.
Every thing else is just 10H duplicates.
?
Can someone please assist?

Re: Used pricing
Back around 2000 Ebay was fun to buy and sell. After 2005 I stopped it had changed a lot.?
I did buy one item in 2016.?
The next is Because of Amazon low price and free shipping hard to sell?
?
I sell look but not nothing like the old days.?
The cost of shipping is a big problem.? Then a lot sellers are just there to make money today.?
It can fun?

Re: Used pricing
I think you're being a bit unfair to the people on Ebay. I've bought a lot of stuff there, for machining and photography, and I've never done it to resell, but always for my own use.? I suspect the great majority of buyers there are like me. Mike Taglieri? On Wed, Jan 15, 2025, 7:00?PM Archie McNee via <archie.mcnee=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Used pricing
Interesting question. My personal view is I¡¯d rather sell cheaper to someone who genuinely wanted to get started in machining than someone who had more cash but just wanted a bargain. How do you tell the difference? I don¡¯t know but I would prefer to give something away than sell to someone on eBay who may split everything up and sell individual item for a profit. How much do you need the case if obviously a consideration. I¡¯m not rich but selling stuff on EBay doesn¡¯t interest me. I¡¯d rather give it away to a good cause.

Thanks.? Appreciate the suggestion.? Yes I can always come down a bit each month until they sell.?? Usually I put a bold "no haggling" to limit the #tire-kickers. ? So the Grizzly is $855 plus freight on-sale right now (down from $950 plus freight).??? I have no idea if this is one of those "permanently on sale" type of situations?? The HF Mini Lathe (which I guess competes with the Grizzly?) is $799 list.? ??? I know there are no more 20% off HF coupons,? though maybe these items were always excluded. |
Re: Used pricing
That is the approach I take when selling tools - along with checking for comps on Craigslist and ebay.? If you have time, I'd suggest a little higher to start, given good condition and ready to go.? Maybe 75% & 60% of Grizzly/HF and accessories costs.? You can always come down.

I've upgraded to dedicated CNC machines and was looking for suggestions on how to price mini-lathe (Grizzly G8688) and mini-mill (Harbor Freight) for sale.? Used but well taken care of.? Fully adjusted.

Each has a fair amount of aftermarket accessories such as MT#2 chuck, A2Z QC toolpost, ER32 collet chuck/collets, 4-jaw chuck --- power feed, belt-drive, air spring, rotary table (plus all original parts. Stand/table for each.?
I was thinking of starting out at 60% of Grizzly/HF new price plus 50% of new cost for the accessories.??? Is this realistic?? In the end it's whatever the local market (West Coast USA) will support.? There is a bone stock G8688 on FB marketplace with no accessories and some minimal tooling (worse condition than mine) for $1000 which strikes me as "highly optimistic". |
