Re: Mini Lathe and Northern Lights

Here in NE TN I saw a bright purple patch through a tiny hole in the clouds but the rest of the time it either too cloudy or nothing to see. There are mor bigger sun spots developing but they dont think the solar wind will hit Earth. I drove 17 miles up into Virginia but still saw nothing even with long exposurtes.

Try my Free Online Gear train Software:
You enter a thread pitch or TPI and it shows you a range of gear trains and gearbox setting to use and even a scale drawing of the gear train.
It also includes calculations for taper turning by the tailstock offset method, and cutting speeds.
It includes the specifications for many thread types eg metric, UNC, BSW, and BA.
Displays drill sizes for tapping threads at any percent thread depth (with full explanations).

I have seen Yahoo? groups die because no decision. They so Ridge in subject.??
Other groups I am are very liberal decision subjects.?

Some groups I am at time had no decision on subject but had wide range of off subjects ( home repairs, electronics,? computer,? medical and list goes on)?

Active groups live?

FYI?
Putting a temperature gauge on a mini lathe is on subject. It keeos motor from smoking and dieing making for a costly replacement?

Re: Mini lathe motor temperature

I have over current on my mini lathe too.

Great if turning Plastic,? Aluminum,? Brass and Wood.
If turning steel at lower speeds is where the mini lathe motor is in trouble.?

It is easy to calibrated a temperature gauge that reads at 212¡ã F [100¡ãC] just place the Capillary bulb in boiling water should read? 212¡ã F [100¡ãC] .?

Using a temperature gauge is easy way to save the mini lathe from sending smoke signals saying I am to hot.
