The brushes can be filed.
There are stick for comutator cleaning that stick though the brush and clean up the comutator.
You can glue a 220 grit sand paper dot on end dowl that does something.? Remember to use a real good glue or epoxy.? You do not want dot coming off or real pain to get dot out motor.?
