Re: how to.inspect.motor?
Progress!! I turned the lathe around, I was surprised?how heavy the lathe is. I removed the shield, and the motor cover. I also removed the control panel from the front so that I could inspect the brush on the front. The brush on the front looks?great, there is still 3/4" of brush and the wear surface has a nice concave face. It looks like only the top 1/16th of the brush could have contact,?but there was no sign of contact wear.. The lower part of the brush had a crud accumulation and there was no contact wear.
I could flatten the face.Should I do more than that? I possible could make a triangle on the face, but not sure how.
