He has two books which verge on the contradictory. For what it is worth, mention is made of putting standard eight reels into the cartridge supplied with the camera...I can think of other examples of this, Pentaflex etc.
As to date, at least the info in both his books is the same. Post war he lists:
Movikon 8(quer) 1952 Movitar (guess this is a query)
Movikon 8? 1956 Movitar
Movikon 8B 1958 Tessar
Then he lists the Movinettes.
None of them with the K prefix.
BUT... I have it all wrong I now realise!
Reading into the detail, these post war cameras have virtually the same dimensions as the later Movinette and further investigation shows that the Movinette started life branded as Movikon 8.
All the cameras with dimensions similar to the K8 are pre-war as you surmise.
