Thoughts

A ceasing.....a resting place...
a gift gracefully given
what do you see here
feel here in this unknowingness?
Breathe it in...

Wow! That will be an earwig for sure! But we wonder, “What is the inherent meaning?”
Thanks, Ken!

Using our listserve and web forum

Responding to an email, I realized that not everyone who has joined our listserve and webforum on may be equally clear on how to use it. There are two ways to send a message to those who have joined the group:

1. Just email?[email protected], or
2. Go to?/g/zcd?and click New Topic.?

Either way, whatever you email or post will both be emailed to everyone on the list, and listed as a new post on the web forum. And really, this is a powerful form of communication, with each of us able to communicate directly with the group. So there is room for all kinds of sharing between members - reflections and poetry, discussion of our practice, maybe just an item for sale or a link to an instructive?video. For instance, here's a link to a film of our Dharma ancestor Harada Daiun Sogaku ("Daiun Honored One" in our ancestral line) at his temple from 1957:

?

Remember also that if you find your inbox getting crowded with messages from the group, you can always change how you receive emails from the listserve by altering your settings.

Joel

Hoping you are all staying warm on this cold snowy day with perhaps a chance to sneak outside and feel invigorated by the breezy wind on your cheeks.? Attached a poem for today and a view on Metta Practice in the form of a cartoon; enjoy!? Read the cartoon from right column, down and then left column down.

Volunteer opportunity: Dharma Relief

For those interested in volunteer opportunities, we received this email from?gpbenza@...:
?
Hello,
?
My name is Greg, and I’m contacting you on behalf of Dharma Relief. We’re a nonprofit organization that’s getting FDA approved class-2 surgical masks from China to hospitals around North America (you can check out our website at dharmarelief.org). Currently we’ve raised more than $300,000 and have sent masks to hospitals all over the US. Unfortunately we’ve run into a problem, and we think Zen Center of Denver can help.
?
So far, we've been using our network of volunteers to get masks to the largest hospitals in the hardest hit states. However, we've recently found out that hospitals in Colorado aren’t getting the help they need, and we think recruiting volunteers from Dharma centers there would be the best way to move forward. If we could get volunteers from your center to help identify hospitals, we would be forever grateful. All we need is the volunteers to gather contact information from the hospitals, and from there we can do the rest.
?
If this is something that interests you, let me know, and we can send you the information on getting started.?
?
Bowing Deeply,
?
Greg Benza
