Re: Open Create Meeting

Francine,
Thank you for these links.? I was thinking about what you said about being in Catholic school when you were introducing your comic.? I remember vividly Sister Anastasia taking out the girls and Father coming in to speak with the boys.? He talked a lot about
us being temples of the Holy Spirit and avoiding "self-abuse."? Unfortunately, for the naive ones among us, he never explained what that was!???? I do have to say, though, that for the three years I was in Catholic school (my dad was in the
Air Force, so we moved around a lot) I have nothing but good memories of the nuns we had.? And they provided me the basis of my education that got me through college and law school.? It was a very poor parish, but they taught us well.
Anyway, thanks for your continued support of our group--it's a lot of fun and spurs me to improve my art.
Jim

Thank you, Bill, for these excellent notes and for keeping? us on track.? Here are the links to some Ikebana videos forwarded to my teacher from Ikenobo International.
I echo Bill's invitation to all members to create.? In these times when there is so much loss, the act of creating and sharing creations with others can help keep us engaged in a fruitful life. |

SMC donations
HI all, as many of you know, Shambhala Mountain Center, where we held so many lovely sesshin, was damaged in the Cameron Peak fire. While the staff were evacuated and are safe, some did lose possessions and buildings as well as trees burned (photos on the website). I have heard from some of you wanting to donate towards rebuilding; the leadership is asking that you either use their facebook page or the donate section on their website (). Thank you for your generosity, Gassho, Karin

Assistance for Mike 10/14
---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Michael Griffiths <mlgriffiths524@...> Date: Sat, Sep 26, 2020 at 2:19 PM Subject: To: Zen Center of Denver <office@...> I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy at the VA hospital on 10/14. I am required to be accompanied by someone who can drive me to and from the appointment leaving my house at 0630 and returning home approximately 1200. My wife Jann is out of town due to a serious illness in her family and probably won't be back by then. Can anyone in the sangha help? Otherwise I can reschedule for a later time. Seonjoon
Hi all, I've been sad to miss Open Create the past month (or more!). With the school year starting--and board meetings and tournaments--I'm simply overwhelmed and have scaled back on screen time and meetings, even when it means not participating in things I love. I hope everyone is well!? Kindly, sjy __________ Seonjoon Young, MDiv (303) 881-6216 On Sat, Sep 26, 2020 at 1:08 PM Francine Campone <francine@...> wrote: I'll miss you.? Sorry I couldn't make it today, because I was in the middle of a project. Sadly, it wasn't a very creative project.
