For Fri. eve., Nov. 15, there currently are three openings for family cafeteria servers (upstairs), and one Holy Rosary?Dinner

Boulder Zen Center has an open?residential position beginning December 1st!
The residency program is an opportunity for those with a strong?interest in dedicated Zen practice to immerse themselves in a?practice community.
Here at the Boulder Zen Center, we are continually exploring the balance between the traditional monastic lifestyle and everyday Bodhisattva practice, redefining what Zen practice looks like in the West. Residents at BZC are committed to following the daily schedule of zazen meditation, zendo ritual, and Zen intensives to a significant degree, while continuing their professional work or educational program outside of the center.
Residency is about deepening your personal practice, but also about living with a shared intention. Together we create an opportunity to practice mindfulness in daily activities and cultivate a life of freedom, wisdom, and compassion in community.
We are looking for someone who can commit to at least a 6-month?term, with preference going to longer?commitments. The position is open beginning December 1st. ?If you're interested but this timing doesn't work for you, we still welcome you to submit an application now to be considered for future openings.

Election Day MeditationTuesday, November 5th?starting at 6:00 pm Eastern TimeAs the US elections approach, many people around the world have been feeling anxiety and uncertainty about what the future holds. For many, election day may be unsettling.? Our meditation practice teaches us to be still in the face of all life¡¯s challenges and ecstasies, its anxieties and uncertainties, to settle into being unsettled.?We vow as Peacemakers to be touched by both the joys and the pain of the universe. Please join us?for online meditation as the election outcomes become clear. We will sit three periods, beginning at?6:00pm, 6:30pm, and 7:00pm US Eastern Time. Geoff O¡¯Keeffe will lead these periods, ending each with a short chant or prayer.
Geoff Sh¨un?is a Dharma Holder and has been practicing in the White Plum lineage since his first introduction at?ZCLA?in 1975. With his family, he lived and practiced at?ZCLA?from 1984-'86, studied with Joko Beck in San Diego into the early 90's, and has been a student of Gerry Shishin Wick, Roshi, Roshi Ilia Shinko Perez of?Great Mountain Zen Center?and Paul Gyodo Agostinelli, Sensei of?Eon Zen Center, near Boulder Colorado. Sh¨un has three adult children and three grandchildren. He has been the Zen Peacemakers Executive Director since early 2020.

This is because I have recently returned to school to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. This means big and exciting changes for me, and it also means changes for the Boulder Zen Center. My role as the Program Manager will come to an end at the end of the year. Therefore, we are looking for someone to fill this role and begin training in December.
We are looking for someone who?can help manage our programs, website, emailing, podcast, YouTube channel, and social media presence, among other tasks. This position functions as the communicative liaison between Zenki Roshi, our Guiding Teacher, the Practice Council, and the larger community; it is essential to the success of the Center.?You can find the full job description below.

I am happy to let you know about the new website? It contains information about all the mythical, Indian, Chinese and Japanese Zen Women Ancestors ('the circle') as mentioned in the document, established by the Soto Zen Buddhist Association in 2010. The heart of the site are the life stories from all these women. There is a page with literature about the female ancestors as well. Also included is the ink drawing of Kannon by Ekyo Maezumi (on this page?), with permission from her children.
Hopefully?this might inspire people in our times and will contribute in acknowledging these women of?the past.
