In a few short days, I will hit the 6 month anniversary of my stem cell transplant. With all the political craziness, terrible social problems and racial injustice, and the devastating pandemic, I wanted to share a little gratitude with you all.? So many of you helped my wife and me during my transplant time with food, transportation, company and just being there for me. I am profoundly grateful.
To celebrate my transplantiversary, I hiked and summited Mt. Sniktau today. Its trailhead is at Loveland Pass and is a very accessible, enjoyable hike. I was unprepared for the emotions it elicited though. On the way down, I reflected on my transplant and how crazy lucky I am to be associated with a sangha like you. I also realize how fortunate I am to have had such a competent healthcare team. I certainly know how fortunate I am to have my family.
I just wanted to say thank you. These are really challenging times and just know that you helped one person get through one of his darkest periods. I'll be forever grateful.
