Dear sangha friends,?
?
I'm writing to enlist some help when and if possible for an old dharma friend. Mary Mich, a former member, current friend of the center, and honored elder has Parkinson's disease and now memory loss. Mary was a true friend, guide and support for me when I joined the Center 30 years ago. Mary's background as a nurse, massage therapist and chiropractor helped many of us through rough patches in sesshins. She had wonderful healing hands and would meet anyone in the office who needed a little help and nurturing. She is currently living alone in Winsor Gardens with her dog, Max. I and a few friends are trying to help Mary stay in her condo as long as she can. The one thing that she could use help with right now is food.?
?
So what I'm wondering is this: many of us are over at ZCD for vigil or garden practice. would it be possible if you are cooking something to make an extra serving that could be either frozen or that can keep for few days in the fridge to leave at the ZC. I can pick it up and take to Mary. ?She is vegetarian and loves stir fries, tofu, pastas, mexican, soups, salads etc. She apparently does not like Italian red sauce.?
?
Thank you, Peggy
ps. send me a text or e-mail if you leave something (303-725-5551 or
psheehan@...) and perhaps put her name on it with masking tape. The freezer is in the basement. Fridge is in the kitchen. ?thank you again.?
