Yes I've tried throwing it with a 9V battery and no go.? Also the coils show as open with a VOM.? The turnout is? installed in a layout and the adjacent track is ballasted, so removal of the whole turnout for replacement would be probably be a chore.?I may see about an under the layout solution to move the points, or just relax and throw it by hand as the location is accessible.??
The layout is nearly complete, just doing some detail scenery and want to add a background, so I should probably post some pics on a new thread.? It's a portable compact layout intended to take to train shows, with the controls in a pull-out drawer and the layout itself on a hinged frame to provide wiring access.
