The annual YUSA Auction is the station’s single fund-raiser that helps

defray the costs of bringing old time radio’s best to you 24 hours a day.

As you know, everyone associated with the station — DJs, technical

experts, Web gurus, etc. — are all volunteers. All contributions received

during the year and all money from the auction pays the bills, and we are

always so grateful for your support.

?

Tonight, we have an interesting collection up for bids, and three great items

reserved for a drawing at the end of the night. We also have several items that

are all-nighters — open for bids the entire night.

?

We’ll start with the all-nighters, and you can place bids by phone, email or in chat.

AUCTION

?

The annual YUSA Auction is the station’s single fund-raiser that helps

defray the costs of bringing old time radio’s best to you 24 hours a day.

As you know, everyone associated with the station — DJs, technical

experts, Web gurus, etc. — are all volunteers. All contributions received

during the year and all money from the auction pay the bills,

and we are always so grateful for your support.

?

Tonight, we have an interesting collection up for bids, and three great

items reserved for a drawing at the end of the night. We also have several

items that are all-nighters — open for bids the entire night.

?

We’ll start with the all-nighters, and you can place bids by phone,

email or in chat.

?

Phone is 714-545-2071

Chat is at yesterdayusa.com; click on chat, fill in your name and come on in.

presentations, an assortment of memorable commercials and more.

Audio files are almost all in mp3 and .wav format. Johnny has loaded a

huge collection of old time radio shows plus his entire music collection.

for this priceless collection is set at $300.

treats for more than 95 years. High bid at the end of the night wins two

pounds of See’s coveted chocolates

one terabyte is one million megabytes, so no matter which of the following

drives you bid on and win, he can pack hundreds of hours of exceptional

listening on them for you. He is offering four drives for your bids:

?

1 terabyte

… filled with shows of your choice.

?

2 terabyte

… filled with your favorite shows.

?

4 terabyte

… to be filed with shows that you choose.

?

5 terabyte

Story

YESTERDAY USA has been streaming live on the Internet (and satellite radio) since 1983. For almost forty years we have been providing old-time radio programs, along with original documentaries and exclusive celebrity interviews to help preserve past network broadcasting. Historians, scholars, museum curators and other luminaries have been guests. During the coming year we plan to produce a number of documentaries and the costs involved for production require us to launch this Kickstarter.?

?

Documentary #1 ?THE LIFE AND CAREER OF RONALD COLMAN

With the cooperation of Ronald Colman's daughter, this audio documentary will feature memories and recollections from people who worked with Ronald Colman, including an exclusive interview with Colman's biographer.

Ronald Colman

Documentary #2 ?THE JACK BENNY RADIO SHOW

This documentary will feature interviews with the script writers of THE JACK BENNY PROGRAM, and children who appeared on the program known as part of the Jack Benny beavers. Hosted by Larry and John Gassman.

?

Documentary #3 ?A TRIBUTE TO JOAN BENNY

Joan Benny, daughter of Mary Livingstone and Jack Benny, will provide memories and recollections of her father. Not only will be recounting the days when she finished his autobiography and got it published, but she will recount little known stories that she never included in the book.

Jack Benny and Eddie "Rochester" Anderson

Documentary #4 ?A HISTORY OF THE LONE RANGER

The masked man who rode the plains to combat cattle rustlers, bank robbers, masked bandits and murderers, was assisted by his faithful Indian companion from 1933 to 1954. The radio program aired three days a week and gave multiple generations more than 3,000 thrilling adventures. The history of that popular western program will be a highlight of the year with exclusive interviews with cast members from the radio show, and commentary by historian/author Martin Grams.

Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels as The Lone Ranger and Tonto

Documentary #5 ?JIMMY STEWART'S RADIO CAREER

Many people know Jimmy Stewart from his motion pictures but few know he had a career on radio. The most popular was a cowboy western known as The Six Shooter, which he played the title lead. This documentary will feature clips from numerous radio broadcasts, commentary from historians and an exclusive interview with his daughter Kelly.

James Stewart and Jean Arthur in MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

Documentaries, like any production, have overhead, which is why we are asking for your support. We do not sell the documentaries, nor release them commercially. We offer them to the masses for free on our Internet radio station. But financial reimbursement is needed. Please help us keep this momentum going for another year. We hope you continue enjoying the 24-hour programming the radio station will continue to provide in this new year.?

Hello folks, sorry about missing my show yesterday but my health issues keep affecting me very negatively and do not allow for my usually calm demeanor on the air.

?

I want to make sure you all know about The Glowing Dial Live Fundraising Marathon which is happening March 17 to 20, 2022. I have lined up several neato live guests and am trying for a few more! I'll be doing my usual Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday Live shows "as part of" the Marathon!

Also there will be a few Walden Hughes Live shows, all a part of the Marathon. Some with the Wonderful Patricia, some with John and Larry Gassman. I will be the special guest on all of then as they will be a part of the Marathon proper as mentioned.

?

I have been very fortunate to have had some great folks donate items to entice you all to donate generously to our effort. We have quite a few autographed books, some autographed Lum 'n' Abner Comics artwork, some great and rare downloaded program material as well as chances for "you"

to become a radio star on my shows or even one of your own!

?

All the information on premium items on offer and guest info are on our webpage at .

?

Very important, we were going to do a Kickstarter, and we still might depending on how all this comes out for us, we'll see. What is running NOW is a PayPal Fundraiser. When you go to the Marathon website, pay attention to the "Beat The Marathon Rush" section as that is where the link is for our current PayPal Fundraiser. There is a countdown right there on the page too so you'll see that we don't have much time left for this one Please donate what you can so that we here at The Glowing Dial Live can make the much needed improvements to equipment for the studio as well as ongoing monthly bills to keep the internet on, keep our increasing number of radio stations on and more.

?

Thanks for reading this long diatribe! And please donate to our PayPal Fundraiser as well as the Marathon in March. Do as much as you can and we thank you in advance!

So we’ll play it day to day and let you know more when we do.

?

We’ll begin this evening at 10:30 eastern with Walden and Patricia.
