Say goodbye to Center City Macy's this weekend with Wanamaker Organ concert
Hi Everybody, We use to broadcast this program on YUSA. Below is a note from Mike 2, Walden I found out last night and cannot go to the final concert. I'm really upset. I've met the Cgrand Court Organist Conte several times including when Bill first introduced us. Turns out he sometimes plays at Naval Academy in Annapolis and out scout troop goes there about every three years. 1978 version of newly restored History of Rock and Roll from Corey Harker
If you want to talk about a labor of love, this would be it. Here's the 1978 version of 'The History Of Rock & Roll', produced by Drake-Chenault and distributed to radio stations across the country. Fifty-two hours that follows oddly enough 'The History Of Rock & Roll'. Roughly ten years ago, I set out to build the 'perfect' digital copy of this and other versions of this iconic show. This is the first installment and widely considered the best. Fifteen plus years ago, an open reel copy of this mega-special was distributed on Usenet. Fans of HORR were ecstatic! There were some audio problems, most notably crosstalk and a loss of fidelity that was most likely an issue from the duplication center rather than the reels themselves. So, in order to do this right, a total of four LP sets were purchased through the years at values of $750-$1250 a pop, and that was just the 1978 version. Not cheap, right? Transfers were done meticulously with a Nagaoka MP-500 cartridge and stylus to reproduce the audio as intended, and all major clicks were corrected by hand using a spectral editor. So while this took awhile (even longer due to family obligations), I'm sure you can relate. These files will be huge as they were recorded in 24bit/192k wav format. This is the closest we can get to analog in the digital realm. Raw and restored files will be in the set. It has been a labor of love that I am happy to finally share. There are other versions that will be added in the future, but most fans of this broadcast have called this one the best. I agree (for the most part). If you weren't a part of the original fundraiser for the project, you can donate now for a minimum of $65. Just send funds to my PayPal at: corey.harker@.... Please use 'friends & family' when sending. Thank you everyone!

Just a reminder about tonight's extra show
Hi, On Valentine’s day, we did a Friday night show. The problem was that in a Windows Update that morning, Microsoft changed settings on my sound card. I should have checked to be sure we were on the air that night but, I forgot to do so. We later found out that we did a show lasting 2 hours and 22 minutes but nobody heard it outside of the zoom room. Tonight at 8:05 Eastern and 5:05 Pacific, we’ll play that February 14 show and then go live into the regularly scheduled Friday night show. We hope you’ll tune in early to listen to us on both Yesterday USA red and blue. Jon

Yesterday USA Red... Update
Hey gang, OK, I've been working on this update for a few weeks now and am finally completed. As of now, YUSA Red has 14,215 radio shows in rotation. That equals 273 days, 15 hours, 41 minutes of content. Our listeners on Red and ACB should not hear many repeats for quite a while. I also volume balanced all of these shows which took several days of processing to complete. At any rate, this is a massive update and the beginning of YUSA's return to glory ? Best, Corey

update on Yesterday USA new audio studio
Hi Everybody, You might recall many of you help us over a year ago to raise fund for a new audio studio with new audio gear. Our audio guy Mark has found some good deals and we will have the new studio up next month. We could use some help. We will be spending a lot of money quickly to make this happen for YUSA. Take care, Walden I hope you’re doing well. I’m reaching out to ask for support for this GoFundMe. Please consider donating, no contribution is too small to help. Temperary YUSA Website to solve problems 2
Hello, For the past few days the yesterdayusa.net website has been having problems. For now, you can go to yesterdayusa.com for basic use of the links. We’ve tried the site and it does work. Stay tuned America is the only link not working right now. This will allow you to hear both red and blue streams. The station can also be heard on some but not yet all of the third party apps. We’re still working on that with this new server. John

Long post about the Disney Candlelight Ceremony
Hello, We talked about this ceremony in Bits Chat last night and I was asked to put information about it on this list for those who may want to listen to the ceremony which is live streamed and available on Youtube. As a Disney Retiree, I’ve sung in 17 ceremonies as of this year. Today December 8 2024 is the second and final day of our Disneyland Candlelight Choir Ceremony. I think Disney World's continues for the rest of December. The Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony began in 1958 and was an opportunity for Walt Disney to Thank all the various companies who supported Disneyland. Today, The choirs all process down Main Street holding electric candles and we sing Christmas Carols as we walk by the assembled audience. The Church, School and Community choirs numbering around 500 people stand on Riser around Main Street. The Disney Choir stand up in the Christmas tree on risers and I'm proud to have been a Disney Choir member for my 17th Candlelight Ceremony this year even as a retiree!!! We sing with a full Orchestr and a Hand Bell Choir. Our narrator is usually someone from television or movies and believe me over the 66 years of the Ceremony, we've had all of the super-stars from those media. The narrator brings the Christmas Story alive each year during the four shows. Two of them are on the first Saturday in December and two on Sunday. People gather four and five hours before the shows just to get a good seat which is free with your park ticket for that date. If you want to hear examples of the Ceremony, visit Youtube.com and search for 2024 Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony. You can find Disney World's up there as well. Usually the full live streams are up there for both nights. Candlelight is a ceremony I look forward to each December and as long as I can walk and sing, I'll be up there in the Disney Candlelight choir.
