So, after purchasing a newer USB to RS-232 cable Windows recognized and installed the drivers.
My older USB to RS-232 cables were not recognized in Win11 which required the newer cable.
When trying to connect to the radio, both the cable and radio had 9-pin D male connectors.? ?This required using a 9-pin D female to female cable.? ?
This did not immediately work because pins 2 & 3 needed to be reversed.? After this change the FT-991a and FT-dx10 both work with WSJT-x physically connected to the radio directly.? ?YCAT can still use the USB driver and no virtual cable is required.? ?
It is best to put WSJT-x on RS-232 port because it doesn't support Auto Information and WSJT-x doesn't use it either.? ?It will turn off Auto Information.
