Yes happy new year.
It’s not starting well for me, I’ve got what feels like a cold. Hopefully not covid, no way to find out, it’s almost impossible to get tested. The testing places have huge queues and we’ve been told not to go unless we are really sick or have been told to go by the health department. Besides I don’t want to line up will sick people! I’m fully vaccinated including the booster. Pharmacies have run out of the rapid antigen test. So, I’ll just stay home and monitor my symptoms. Beryl |

Beryl - hope it's just a cold, and wish you had a way to find out. The test situation sounds even worse there than it is here. So ridiculous/unhelpful at this point! To all of you, I wish a year of hope and joy. While I can't really complain about much, I'm still going to be very happy to see the backside of 2021. sorry about the rant! I’m almost sure it’s a cold - Daryl hasn’t got it which helps with my diagnosis because Omicron is very infectious. My son, his wife & daughter in New York City all had it in the week leading up to Christmas and, thankfully, it was mild and didn’t last long. Anyway, here’s a more cheerful Happy new year, let’s hope 2022 is a huge improvement on the previous two years. love to you all Beryl |

开云体育I sent a question to Older Son who is in Washington DC re: oldest Grand (about his next sweater which I want to start soon) and found out that he’s in quarantine awaiting his test results. He’s 14, vaccinated x2 and was exposed to a neighbor who is positive. Pennsylvania broke its own positive record 3 days in a row (23,000+ cases reported today) and flu is on the rise. We are vaxxed and boosted and seldom go out anywhere. The grocery store is a big deal!! And I went to the post office today (only one customer allowed in the counter area at a time). I really want this to be over, but I am finding that introversion works well for me. ? Ann in PA ? ? |
开云体育Beryl, half the residents in my parents-in-law’s nursing home have had omicron recently including some 90+ ?with heart conditions. None have needed any medical treatment apart from, in a few cases, a couple of days staying cosy in bed. Yay for vaccinations. ? Beryl, I hope it is just a cold!? We have turned into hermits here. Our case numbers are skyrocketing due to omicron but hospitalizations seem to be lower.
