Well, we finally have a contract on the home we wanted that had the driveway/easement issue.
The property owner of the easement hates the current owner of this house so much that he will not discuss the continued use of the easement.
So…….we are just putting in a new driveway (paid out of sellers proceeds at closing.) It’s idiotic but while we are having the drive put in, we may just have the same excavation company dig a pond for us! The landscape is perfect for it. (Huge dip in the front yard)
It’s taken months to get here, but I told my realtor that I’m like that dog playing with a rope toy…….you can pull it, shake it up and down and side to side…….I am NOT letting go. ?
I started watching this property last spring. It was Pending then to another buyer. Didn’t sell because of easement issue. BWUHAHAHA. Until we sign the papers, though, I’m still that dog!
The market here is totally insane and because of this easement issue, we got a very good deal. 7 acres in the country—only 6 minutes from my mother and 10 minutes from my daughter and grandson. It’s 2750 sq ft plus a huge unfinished walk-out basement AND there is a huge outbuilding (36x50)for DH’s toys. It’s a lot smaller than our current home but it doesn’t feel like it. Should be closing the first week of December!
I’m going to pare down the sewing machine collection over the next few months. Send vibes of energy and strength. Lol. I’m gonna need it. ?

Congratulations, Connie! The house sounds just right in terms of location and features. We have been casually looking at houses and land in Colorado, and your easement issue has definitely colored how we are looking at things. I hope all goes well through to closing.

An annoying easement and annoying neighbor on one hand. Seven good acres in a perfect location on the other.
Guess what Connie?

Dear Clem, I'm so sorry to hear this. I was wondering how she was doing just a few weeks ago. I have fond memories of sharing a room with her at a Madrona retreat a number of years ago and still have a coffee cozy she made for me then. Please accept my condolences on your loss. She was a valued and loved member of this group.

? Dear Clem, I'm so sorry to hear this. I was wondering how she was doing just a few weeks ago. I have fond memories of sharing a room with her at a Madrona retreat a number of years ago and still have a coffee cozy she made for me then. Please accept my condolences on your loss. She was a valued and loved member of this group.
Jaya Well, we finally have a contract on the home we wanted that had the driveway/easement issue.?
The property owner of the easement hates the current owner of this house so much that he will not discuss the continued use of the easement.
So…….we are just putting in a new driveway (paid out of sellers proceeds at closing.)? ? ?It’s idiotic but while we are having the drive put in, we may just have the same excavation company dig a pond for us!? ?The landscape is perfect for it.? (Huge dip in the front yard)
It’s taken months to get here, but I told my realtor that I’m like that dog playing with a rope toy…….you can pull it, shake it up and down and side to side…….I am NOT letting go.? ?
I started watching this property last spring.? It was Pending then to another buyer.? Didn’t sell because of easement issue.? BWUHAHAHA.? Until we sign the papers, though, I’m still that dog!
The market here is totally insane and because of this easement issue, we got a very good deal.? ?7 acres in the country—only 6 minutes from my mother and 10 minutes from my daughter and grandson.? ? It’s 2750 sq ft plus a huge unfinished walk-out basement AND there is a huge outbuilding (36x50)for DH’s toys.? ?It’s a lot smaller than our current home but it doesn’t feel like it.? ?Should be closing the first week of December!
I’m going to pare down the sewing machine collection over the next few months.? Send vibes of energy and strength.? Lol. I’m gonna need it. ?

Just reading this- Clem- I’m so sorry about this news. Our visit to your ranch including the girls and your generous hospitality is one we all treasure. I have such fond and deep memories of Ann and our visit. I think of you often, and remember our hike, the vanilla scent of the pine bark, her talking of thin spaces. I suspect she’s in a thin space tuning in. She was a lovely and whip smart and observant wise woman. A true loss. May her memory comfort you.? Nilda?
