Re: The great migration has begun
I've never done a power move before. I think I never want to do one again.
This is mostly trying to take advantage of the insane market to get out of a house that has some layout issues.
Provided there's nothing in my credit report I don't know about (and that would be bad!), I do have confirmation that the place I want to rent is mine. Huge, huge relief.

This last weekend was the beginning of moving things from inside this home to the new one. (Darryl had already taken several loads from the garage to “His” barn.)
Today we took an entire cargo trailer of yarn, wool rovings, and a few sewing things. The trailer is 12’ long x6’ wide x 7’ tall. It was packed tightly. 39 big tubs of yarn at the very front, then boxes of yarn, then wool. (This moving crap is exposing my addictions! Darryl just looks at me and carries totes.)

Connie you are cracking me up. Both you and Melisande inspired me to move part of my stash into a cabinet I emptied so I can actually use my office, as, well, an office. OMG I hear you on finding stuff you'd forgotten. And I still have stash overseas. And upstate. What was I thinking? And so many bags too! Good luck to you both, Nilda

Color theory: if you want to minimize the yellow-orange of the cabinets, stay away from purple and blue shades for the walls. Think about whether staining the cabinets something like a deeper?shade of mahogany or walnut might?be?worth doing if you want to keep the look of the wood. Or whitewashing them or staining a light grey if you want to go lighter. Think about whether something like subway tile for the walls might be good, even if it's down the line. I think?on AT they also show these stickon?wallpaper options people use for backsplashes that are reasonable and really change the look of a space. Also, plants. They'll liven up the space too.? Mostly, congratulations! Nilda Hi Connie no decorating guru here but, if possible, I’d get rid of the fan & lights. Looks a bit old fashioned! Lots of down lights in the ceiling would work I think. What a huge kitchen, could fit 3 of mine in there!?
