Re: Calling all juju.......
开云体育Thank you so much everyone for the juju and good thoughts. SO very much appreciated. ? We keep telling ourselves how lucky we are, that DH was still in Switzerland this year. He has an aggressive prostate cancer which on diagnosis had seemingly not escaped (hope this is still true, some time on). But he had no symptoms. His Swiss GP did a routine set of blood tests after DH was off work for a few weeks with exhaustion. And a Swiss standard test for men that age includes the PSA test, and a very high score showed up. ? In the UK, you don’t ever get a PSA test unless you specifically request one and indicate you have possible symptoms. It’s not routine at any point in life. ? So without that bout of overwork and the following tiredness, DH would not have had a chance of a cure……. ? Here’s hoping that luck holds, despite the NHS hiccups. It’s not totally their fault, past medical history means DH can’t have the usual treatment options, and the only thing available in the UK which was suitable turned out to be a pilot scheme which had closed due to end of funding – exactly a week before DH’s application came before the team. There are two other men here who are currently needing this option, who don’t have a foreign alternative. So we are crossing our fingers for them too. ? We are enjoying a cool, damp day this morning. It had been ridiculously hot in Europe recently – which has become common in summer but is a new autumn development. ? Jenny ? ? ? Because of Facebook connecting me to other people with my chronic disease, alas I hear horror stories about the NHS and access to care on a nearly daily basis. It’s really a shame that it is so underfunded and unable to help everyone who needs health care. ? Amy
