Hi everyone! ?
On this beautiful spring day I am happy to announce on behalf of the board that our sculling season can officially begin! ?

The water is below 20 kfcf and is expected to drop further over the coming days. That being said, the flow is still something to pay attention to…in advance of your planned row and certainly while you’re on the water. If you head up river, consider taking the Congo route, given the swirl around the bridge pilings. And enjoy the ride back, when you head back down river.?

Here is the link to the YRC website that includes helpful links for planning your row, including the reservation log.?

Happy rowing season to you all! ??

Best,?
Jaime

Thanks,?

?Jamie, we should certainly send a message to the BOD later about an outside light cover for $500. But FIRST let me get a price from the man in Florida , because I thought it was rather high from Burhnam. ($575 for a full travel cover with heavy padding and lining too!)
? ? ?We really need a cover when it’s outside. The boat is black, it heats up like crazy, and the UVA will deteriorate the carbon fiber.?

? ? ? If necessary we can always have Carol’s friend resew ?the zipper on the heavy duty one,and use it ?but that causes more damage when it’s mal-used ?and gets dirt and grit in it. So wait a bit on the BOD ; first I ll ?will get a price comparison from Alex in Florida. Carol knows about it.?
? ? ? We also should have four or eight wheels on stock at all times. The Fluid Design double ,last year had ?Both sets of four ?completely shot. That is both sets underneath the seats – eight wheels. I was able to repair a few from my stock and then add six brand new ones. So the Fluid Design double is fine now, but we need to keep certain parts in the house. Carol knows about that too. She might even bring her old used one which is fine. As long as they’re good and rolling we can use them as replacements.?

? ? ?BTW Our Normal procedure Is to have the equipment committee i.e. me or Ernie ask Leslie, or the treasurer, to just OK most purchases below $100. If we need a tool, or some special glue, or epoxy , or paint It makes sense just to have the treasurer OK it . Small potatoes.?
? ? ? If it’s really a major purchase over $100 ?then we can bring the BOD in. This seems to have workEd ?really well for the past few decades because Ernie and I are so parsimonious. And that’s no joke, we really keep as much as we can for the club. Yours Craig
