Musical Oars in the Boathouse

Spaces for oars that belong to club members have been tight recently. Craig has just moved things around so that there are a few additional oar rack spaces available up above the club Maas on wheels on the floor in the back of the boathouse on the left. In order to open up those spaces, he had to move some members' oars onto different racks. So, if you don't see your oars on the rack where they've been stored, please check the racks higher up--they should be there along with your name tag. We're sorry for any confusion or inconvenience related to moving things around.

If any members don't have a rack space for their oars and want one, you are welcome to use an open rack space in that area of the boathouse. But, if you put your oars in a space, please be sure to put an index card with your name on it just above the rack, and please be sure not to take someone else's oar space. Most of the racks have two pairs of oars on them, and have oars that belong to more than one member--the name tags should indicate whose oars are on each rack.

The Equipment Committee (me, Craig, and Anne) handles requests for assigning storage for oars and boats in the boathouse and on the outdoor rack. If you wish to change an assignment, e.g., swap rack spaces or oar locations, please consult first with other members who are involved, if any, and then the Equipment Committee.

Eric and Craig will be building some additional oar racks, so we should have a number of new oar rack spaces available soon.

Best,
Ernie
