Are these your oars?
Yankee Rowers,
There is a pair of Dreher oars in the boathouse--on the bottom oar rack next to the YRC Maas on wheels on the floor in the back of the main room in the boathouse. They don't have a name on them, but there are stickers with the initials "LNP" on the shaft. And the blades are painted with YRC red, white, and blue stripes. If these oars belong to you, please let me know. (I'm trying to figure out who has what oars in the boathouse, what oar spaces are available, etc.) Thanks very much. Best, Ernie |
Hi Ernie, It sounds like they might be the oars I bought from Jonathan with the boat, and subsequently sold? with the boat.? ? The? blades were not painted then. Best, Laura

Indeed, & as per all the other threads, the oars are Ellen & mine, they go with the little river marine regatta shell that is on the floor under the racked Mass’, that Jonathan sold to us last summer, I believe on behalf of Laura Price (& hence the LP on them). We’re out of town til early June but will label the oars & oar rack as soon as we return ??. Thanks! - Mark (& Ellen) On May 11, 2021, at 11:55 AM, Ernie Alleva <elaCS@...> wrote: |
Hi - Yes they are now ours; we will update the labeling! We will be away for two weeks but can take care of it as she as we return. Thanks all for the attention to this! - Ellen and Mark

I am writing to you, because you are the person that I had the initial contact with when we joined the Yankee Rowing Club. We are struggling with what to do about our boat, and our membership: we spend the summers now in Maine (when we joined we had not yet built our house on Vinalhaven), and it makes little sense to have a lovely boat and membership if we are only around for a month of rowing. So we are trying to decide whether to sell the boat or not. I hate to do it, but it isn’t practical for it to be in salt water and we have no place up there to take it in and out every time we use it. It is also not reallly seaworthy for ocean rowing. That is why we have not paid our yearly membership dues yet. We are going to be in Maine this next week, but then we’ll try to come to a decision when we get back. If we do decide to sell the boat, we’ll give some kind of pro-rated amount to the club. We appreciate your patience if we do that. Many thanks and all best, Jane On May 11, 2021, at 11:55 AM, Ernie Alleva <elaCS@...> wrote: |
