Fellow scullers, I wanted to share this exhibition announcement with all of you. The work I have in the show began with images from sculling on the river,?and two large sculptural pieces were cast from the hull of an old retired?single. Note that the show runs until the end of October (coinciding with the expected end of our rowing season!). I hope you can find time to head up to NH and see it--there are beautiful hiking trails around the St. Gaudens estate--it is a National Park. All the best, Nancy (orange VanDusen) ?

?One River, Many Views Nancy Diessner, Brenda Garand, and Janet Pritchard July 23 - October 30, 2022 ? Exhibition opening Saturday, July 23, 4:30 PM Picture Gallery, Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park 139 Saint-Gaudens Road, Cornish, NH?03745 Reception at the Farragut Monument followed by talks by two of the artists? ? One River, Many Views?features three artists exploring the theme of the Connecticut River and responding to its beauty, power, and history. These artists work in a variety of media, including photography, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture, at times using the river water, its soil, and its flora in the creative process.? ? Additionally, this exhibition presents reflections written by ten residents of the Upper Valley who live, work, and engage with the Connecticut River. They include creative writers, scholars, and residents, including those from the Abenaki, agricultural, recreational, and other communities for whom the river is an important part of their daily lives.?? |
