Happy Spring, Yankee rowers!
Covid messed with our usual cleanup protocol for the past season, but this year, we’re BACK!
Come join us on SATURDAY, MAY 7TH, 9-11 am - catch up with rowing friends, welcome new ones, enjoy a snack (coffee/ juice/bagels provided - please feel free to contribute something yummy) and together, we’ll make the boathouse sparkle!
Basic, environmentally friendly cleaning supplies will be provided - if someone has a vacuum they’d like to share with us for the day, that would be helpful. If someone has a small folding table for snacks, that would be helpful too! Let me know…
RAIN DATE WILL BE SAT MAY 14TH, 9-11. If the weather is questionable on the 7th, check your email for changes, before heading over.
On the “To-Do” List:
Wash all club boats Clean both bathrooms Clean windows Vacuum floors, dust off surfaces
Hope to see you there - and/or out on the water soon!
Jenn

Hi Jenn-
I could only come by at the tail end of the clean up time but I'll take responsibility for cleaning the woman's bathroom. I'll try to get in there before the 7th.

Thanks Jenn - see you there! Question for all: There's quite a collection of garments along the long wall headed to the heads, some of it has been there a while. I was thinking to take the items, wash them and stack them for their owner to puck up and use. Alogn the way, soon, that wall needs a refresher coat of paint to fight back the mildew. Would be happy to do with a helper.
What do you all think?

I would love to help with the cleanup but I just had major surgery 3 weeks ago so I will have some physical limitations. ?It really bums me out cause I was supposed to have it in December but thanks to covid it was moved multiple times. ?Anyway, I can’t lift anything beyond 5-10 pounds or do any serious bending and stretching but I’m not a complete invalid and would like to help within my limitations. ?I think I could wash boats, just not move them around. ?If there is anything else I can do please feel free to reserve that task for me.
I’m hoping I will be able to row not too long after the season begins…

Thanks, Jonathan. Anything we can do to clear out that corner of the BH would be welcome to those of us occupying “back 40”. I also think it is a great idea to clear out the various odds and ends that have accumulated in other areas of the BH. ? Unfortunately, I am out of town on May 7. I will come by before that and clean some windows. ? CP ? ?

Hello everyone. I am going to be on the Cape next weekend as it is my rotation for care of my 93 year old Dad. I would be happy to do anything that doesn’t get done or on the wish list. I love to clean things and am somewhat handy so feel free to dump something on me!! I can’t wait to living the Yankee life again. For now it’s big boats at NCR. We do have programs for experienced sweep rowers or scullers who want to row quad or double until it warms up. But you’d be racing the eights and fours. Lol.? Sally? I have a Dyson vacuum (the Animal--ggrrr) that we can use for the day. I use it like a ShopVac in my garage. Also--regarding the windows--Anita and I were the Covid Window Team for the last two years, and last year we came up with a good system that included a telescoping squeegee mop tool that worked well for the outside riverside windows, which are quite high. I have a messed-up shoulder so can't engage in that particular task, but I'll bring it along.? Looking forward to seeing all who can make it on the 7th. Nancy

Hope to see you there - and/or? out on the water soon!

? Thanks, Nancy - that would be great! I have concentrated window cleaner/bucket I can add to your window arsenal :)
Nancy Thanks, Jonathan. ? CP ? ? ? Yes, I think I will wash, photo and stack and send pix around for folks to claim. ? ? We also might want to get rid of some of years of accumulation of odds and ends. ? On Fri, Apr 29, 2022 at 10:43 AM Jonathan Wright <waterrat@...> wrote: Thanks Jenn - see you there! Question for all: There's quite a collection of garments along the long wall headed to the heads, some of it has been there a while. I was thinking to take the items, wash them and stack them for their owner to puck up and use.? Alogn the way, soon, that wall needs a refresher coat of paint to fight back the mildew. Would be happy to do with a helper.
What do you all think?

I am sorry that I can not make either date.? But I will promise to complete a mid-season re-cleanup of the bathrooms, perhaps around late July, after they have had some use.
Have fun, everybody!
