Abandoned gear available

Yankee Rowers,

There is a blue plastic box in the boathouse on the floor by the bench near the bathrooms. It has some abandoned gear in it (e.g., ?sunglasses, mirrors, water shoes, a bicycle pump, rowing togs, some shirts, several caps, etc.) Between now and this coming Friday, feel free to take anything in there that you can use.

Best,
Ernie ?

The YRC NK GPS units have moved

YRC? Members:
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?The club has two NK GPS units. They have been moved from the knee-wall in front, to the shelves on the back wall, between the bathrooms.
This should be better than trying to grab them from under wet towels and a stack of boats.
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?The two car-top racks ,which were on the floor in back, are now hung up on the wall behind the first stack of shells. They are the two on the lowest hooks.

YRC Boathousekeeping (Is this container yours?)

There is a blue plastic container in the boathouse located on top of the short wall between the two rooms of the boathouse. It's about 1' x 1' x 1.5' and has various kinds of gear in it--hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, rags, etc.?(There are two other boxes alongside it on the wall, a cardboard box and another blue plastic box, that have club records in them.)?Craig and I don't know who the?container belongs to. We're trying to tidy things up a bit--if this is your container, please remove it from the boathouse. Thanks very much.?

Best,
Ernie?

Caution: Split plank on the YRC Boathouse ramp

The lowermost plank on the ramp from the main boathouse door to the blacktop is split?
--towards the end of the plank, near the center of the ramp, along the blacktop. If you step on the plank there, it gives way a bit and you can catch your foot or twist your ankle. The plank needs to be replaced. In the meantime, please be careful and avoid stepping on that spot of the ramp.

Thanks to the generosity of Barry Nigrosh we have a heavy-duty roller for our hose now.

It is simple to coil up the hose with this device. There is a cam "brake" which has just enough tension when you pull out the hose, so it doesn't go running off the spoil wildly. When you coil up the hose with the handle,? take the cam "brake" off so it can run free.? The hand that is not cranking the handle can neatly guide the hose into an even pattern. Then lock the brake when you are finished. The "brake" is labeled.??So, when pulling Out the hose- brake is ON.?When Re-coiling the brake is OFF.

So far, it seems as though you can bleed the hose either before or after coiling it back up with no difference.

Thanks again to Barry.

Re: wall mount hose reel

Jon,
? ? ? ? ? ?Same comment: Our hose takes a beating from the UV and being coiled incorrectly. This is actually a decent one which has work well. I don't think we 'need'? a new hose, just a way to stop people from kinking it on the rack. Whatever works.

Re: wall mount hose reel

Mark,
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Our hose is just fine. I forgot who bought and donated this one, but it is very tough.? It is the coiling on the simple mount that seems to perplex people. If you throw a half turn on it as you coil it, the hose comes off and doesn't kink. The hose dose take a beating though, so until this one breaks, why buy a new one?
