Subject: [yankeerowing] YRC 2024 Season has Closed

?

Hello Fellow YRC Members!?

Anita and I are writing to let you know that YRC 2024 rowing season is officially closed. The temp check and the seasonably cold weather is settling in. This means that club boats are no longer available. Private boat owners can row of course, though we urge caution.?

As we reflect on the season, one cannot help but recognize our good fortune of being able to row on such a beautiful body of water. We are also so fortunate to have another year’s use of a sweet little boathouse that is such a great home for our boats and meeting place for all who love this incredible sport.?

This year also brought some exciting things….new members, old friends returning to our club, and, of course, the return of our regular crew. ?We also had members compete in HOC and other races around New England. ?It was impressive to observe their commitment to their training and to hear about the racing adventures. ?Congrats! ?

Anita and I want to express gratitude and thanks to the YRC Board. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to supporting the club.?

In particular, we want to express special appreciation for Carol and Craig. ?Carol, as the club’s treasurer, does so much to keep the club running. ?Her management of our membership and the club’s finances helps ensure our doors stay open (literally, since she facilitated the access to the garage door opener that actually works!) and keeps our club boats in good repair and accessible for members’ use. ?

Also, Craig, who continues to tirelessly contribute countless hours to the club, our fleet, and all club members. Craig’s skills and commitment to maintaining and repairing club boats and his willingness to helping members with their own boats improves the experience of every member of the club.?

Thank you Carol and Craig for your enduring commitment and invaluable contributions to YRC and our members.?

Thanks for a great 2024 season. We are already looking forward to the 2025 season. Be well everyone and see you next year!?

Thank you for all that everyone does to keep Yankee going. If anyone is interested in strength and conditioning over the winter, NCR has rented a space on 141F Damon Road with ergs and weights and room for body weight circuits. MWF am from 6-7:15 am for Masters. We have a session now through Jan 17 and a second session from Jan 19-April for $315. We also have a youth program MWF 4:30-6 pm with financial aid for any Northampton kids under our ARPA grant. Please spread the word, join us or think about joining us! Coach Mike promised to keep it fun and productive without grueling erg pieces for the next 6 months! ?Ask me if you have any questions.?

Hi Everyone!

I hope you have all been well since we got dirty for cleaner rivers in September!

As a few of us discussed at the end of the cleanup in September, this area can be tricky to get into when the brush is thick so we are hoping to get to a lot of trash once the brush dies back a bit. So, we have decided to schedule?a late fall?cleanup?at the Northampton?Meadows on November?22nd from 9-11am.?

Info & Registration Link:?

Please share with your networks and hope to see you there! But, if not, hope?you have a lovely fall.??
