Updated Info -- Northampton Community Rowing Spring Programs
Registration is open for folks who wish to row with NCR for spring only April 3-June 3. It is $350 for the session, but for anyone who wants to join for more than one session, they have a 7 or 12 month option where you can pay monthly.

Good to hear from you. I hope never to row sweeps again! I’m only half joking. Four years in college, a couple of years in grad school, and about a dozen Head of the Charles alumni boats, and I would much rather stick to sculling, thank you.?
I expect that spring dues will be coming along soon. I look forward to my week in August. Thank you and the YRC again for welcoming me each year.?

Hello Yankee rowers, Our docks are in and adults will be starting at Northampton Community Rowing for Spring session on April 3. Stay tuned as we are migrating our registration and club administration portal to ICREW so a bit behind on the sign ups. If you are interested in joining us, even if it is until the river is safe for single, we would love to have our Yankee family swinging with us. Send me an email and I will make sure to contact you when the portal is live. We do have a quad and doubles if you are only a sculler, as well as singles with Pontoons, but unlikely will be in singles for a long time too!? Sally Sally Linowski

Hello Yankee Friends, I know how sad we all are to see our water season come to an end, but fear not, NCR is inviting you to join us for Indoor Training November 14-March 31. We have rented All Sports Soccer Arena at the Northampton Fairgrounds for our exclusive use M-F 6-8 am. The?place is huge, with new air filtration systems, new owners and heat! We? can easily keep ergs several feet apart for those who wish to socially distance. We do have some athletes who choose to mask as well. Registration for adults and youth is on our website and we would love to see you! We will be erging, stretching, strength training and all things that make us ready for mucking around in boats. Dear NCR Members, Friends and Families!
After successfully navigating NCR through COVID-19 and its fallout, we as the Board of Directors are thrilled by the positive energy and renewed growth we’ve seen throughout the 2022 rowing season! This is a very exciting time, and we are more committed than ever to upholding our mission; to identifying new opportunities for our members to engage with the sport of rowing; and to prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion to make Northampton Community Rowing a home for all.
?
With these aims in mind, we are currently working on two critical projects in collaboration with the City of Northampton and our other partners on the river:
?
- The Northampton Waterfront Accessibility Project, which will provide safe and reliable access to the river and shoreline for rowers, kayakers, and beachgoers of all ages and abilities;
- The “Ready-All-Row” grant project, which seeks to broaden our outreach to youth and adult rowers in underserved parts of our community who may not have considered the sport of rowing, as well as updating and expanding our rowing and safety equipment inventory to better meet the needs of our growing membership.
If you would like to be part of this effort, and if you have professional skills you would like to share for the good of our community, we hope you will consider joining the Board or one of the sub-committees that carries out our volunteer work.?The average commitment is 2-3 hours per month. Board meetings are held via Zoom on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meetings are open to the public for any who are interested in observing and learning about what we do.
?
If serving on the Board of Directors isn’t for you, but you would still like to volunteer, there are many ways you can help out depending on your talents and interest.

The season is over, alas // effective 11/14
Effective Monday, Nov. 14, the club rowing season is closed. This means that club
boats may not be rowed.
Those of you with private boats are welcome to row.
But please be careful. The water temperature has been 48F or lower recently,
and cold weather is in the forecast. We want to see you all hale and hearty when
spring springs!
Thank you all for running a remarkably collaborative and cooperative club. I know
you all cherish our little boutique club, and you make it work, every day. Thank you.

So weather dependent Christina. Go ahead and wash it just before you take your last row. These warm weather conditions make it hard to predict. If you’ve been using soap and water on it throughout the season, it shouldn’t have any big build up of algae or dirt. Might as well wash it now well, and the colder water won’t really be putting a film or scum on your hall.? ? ? ?I got one of those Thera band wrist gizmos, they really work for tennis elbow or golfers elbow.
