Troubleshooting the Sub Oscillator Section
My Sub Oscillator section is not working at all.? What's the best way to go about troubleshooting the different components for failures on the board? How do I measure the LFO IG00150 chip to see if its good or bad? Mind you, I am not an electronics guy so I would need detailed instructions. I don't have a technician anywhere near where I live so trying to do this solo. Much appreciated. |

You need an oscilloscope and the ability to handle the scope and the ability to read schematics and pcb layouts. To be honest: As long as you are not an "electronics guy" the chances that you will destroy your CS are bigger than the chances that you will repair it. Just as simple example: one mounting rail of the cards runs supply voltage. If you get the wrong contact between a device in the synth and this mounting rail, you may blow a lot of things... I am sorry, that I don't have better news for you. Florian Am 15.09.2017 um 04:58 schrieb joaopaulosilva12@... [yamahacs80]:

its quite true what Florian says ... it's really not something you can approach lightly ... at least not without understanding the interactions of components and circuitry architecture. I have years and years of basic experience and good technical skills with soldering etc. myself but even i find it extremely challenging and most often frustrating. this is not to say you shouldnt do it... but you will have to be extremely committed and spend hundreds of hours learning on simpler things maybe. i do not want to discourage you .... nor does Florian ... but its something you will have to work your way up to ...
