Add another 13 to 15 kilograms to the weight without the lid and you should be covered (the lid is heavy as hell but so is the rest of this thing).

I have the following ones. mm 1.206 x 681 x 295, weight 82 kg.
Are these the measures WITH or WITHOUT the original lid? I needed the ones WITH the lid...
Thanks

And as far as I remember total weight with lid is a little more than 100kgs...

Re: Yamaha CS-80 dimension

The 295 mm dimension is the height with the lid in place.

YAMAHA CS-80 ultimate upgrade ?

Hello everybody,

I was discussing with a friend as to which could be the most extensive upgrade for the CS-80 available so far and if there could be one more extensive than this one :

Curious to know what you guys know on this topic.

Thanks,
Phil

ISO: CS-80 For Sale

I have a serious buyer looking for a CS-80, preferably in the USA if anybody's aware of one for sale.

Please contact me at synthRodriguez@... if you know of anything available.

And as usual I'm personally always on the prowl for CS-50, 60, 80 spare parts or carcasses, regardless of condition.

Thanks!

Scott

Re: Power switch styles

Sorry for hijacking this topic, but does anyone have an extra cs80 memories panel they would sell to me??

Mine is missing there’s.

Thanks!

The black rocker is the USA version and the white is the European market. The mains power wiring is a bit different for both so?different?switches were needed..

Musical Instrument Museums

Hi all.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up on a great little museum in the area: the Museum of Making Music ( ).

It’s in Carlsbad, CA next to Legoland and in the same building of the NAMM headquarters (parent org). I’ve been going there for years and have always enjoyed the displays and the special events and concerts they host. They just updated the whole place and added many touch-screens to the exhibits to give multi-media info about them.

There’s also several areas where visitors can play various instruments from guitars to keyboards to drums. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone interested in music or music instruments. Even little kids like some of the interactive areas.

In addition, I became a volunteer there a couple of months ago and really enjoy helping out - mostly helping visitors with the exhibits. The hours are very flexible and you can sign up for various blocks on a website. Lots of very nice people on the staff and the other volunteers. I’d recommend it for anyone in the area who wants to help out for a good cause in the community. Oh, and if you work at least 60 hours in a year, you can go to the NAMM show!!!!!

I’ve also found it great to have a place to get dressed to go to at a specific time after all these months working from home. If anyone has questions, please let me know. And, yes, they require masks.

And no, we don’t have a CS80 there but lots of cool and rare instruments including some synths. A few years ago, there was a month-long Moog exhibition that included performances by Eric Norlander, Larry Fast, and Keith Emerson (with the big, modular Moog).

Related to this, if you don’t already know, the big NAMM show near Disneyland has been bumped to the first week of June and Synthplex (where there was a CS80) is moving to Oct 2022.

David
