It does look interesting. If only it had 88 keys! :(

Wow - may finally be time to retire MIDIBoards! Expressive-E Osmose

Need more info but this looks like an amazing controller and synth. ?Needs one more octave and a ribbon. The latter should be easy since this is a joint venture with the Haken Continuum folks!

Welcome to our relocated group!

Hi all!

I haven't had time to check out all the tabs and features but I'm relieved that we're back up - and off of Yahoo!

I've been massively swamped lately with work and family and some health issues so I haven't done any synth-ish stuff since going to Synthplex back in March. ?I hope everyone else has some time to enjoy synths and other instruments and music in their lives.

More later,

David

Re: Migrating the group

David,

I also spent the last day downloading everything in the Photos, Files, and Database areas (yes, even the photos that didn't have enough resolution to really be useful, sadly). What I do NOT have is an archive of all the messages. I didn't subscribe to getting the messages emailed to me periodically, so I'm just hoping that since you've migrated them all here, then they should persist here after Yahoo turns off the lights on their Groups area. If anyone has a collection of the technically useful messages, please let me know (otherwise, I guess I'll just have to slog through them at some point to "mine" the juicy bits).

As for the Photos/Files/Database areas I downloaded... I've zipped them up (the zip is almost 150 MB) and I could put that on my Google Drive and share a link to it here for anyone who would like a collection of those three areas up to the point of 6-Nov-2019. I just don't want to do that unless I have your permission to do so, since you're the owner of this forum. I just got scared of everything going "pop!" and decided to archive it all before it might do the disappearing trick. Anyway, thanks for migrating it all over here. Just let me know how you'd like me to proceed.

Selling mine!

Since nobody here in Brazil can fix it, I'm selling mine!
Price negotiable!

Fyi there is an error on the first page of the manual. You have to hit the red button 2 times in succession to enter midi program mode, once and hold to enter transpose mode.

Subject: [yamahacs80] Questions About Kenton Midi Kit

Hello everyone,

I recently had a Kenton Midi Kit installed into a CS80.. It looks like something was not done correctly during the installation, since the mod and pitch wheels are not working. I have tried 2 different controllers; notes are being triggered, aftertouch and program changes work, but the wheels do not.. It does not matter if the toggle switch is up or down.. I have tried to reset the midi mode, which returns everything to the default settings, but no success. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Also I am not sure if the red button is working properly. I spoke with Harry at Kenton, and when you enter midi program mode (by hitting the button 2 times in succession) there should be no sound being triggered in the CS80 when you play different keys on the controller, to assign different midi settings. But when I am in the midi program mode, the CS is still playing notes from the controller. The transpose mode does seem to be working. Harry was not 100% sure there should be no sound, since he did not have a CS80 in the shop. Can anyone tell me if I should here notes triggered from the CS while its in midi program mode?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Alex

I spoke with Harry at Kenton, and when you enter midi program mode (by hitting the button 2 times in succession) there should be no sound being triggered in the CS80 when you play different keys on the controller, to assign different midi settings. But when I am in the midi program mode, the CS is still playing notes from the controller. The transpose mode does seem to be working. Harry was not 100% sure there should be no sound, since he did not have a CS80 in the shop. Can anyone tell me if I should here notes triggered from the CS while its in midi program mode?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Alex
