thanks a TON! very helpful, and definitely solved the problem. last follow up- since i scavenged R1-5 and VR4-6 from my old 80 board, id like to replace them on the old one, in case i ever need it. R1-5 look like bigger resistors-can i get away with smaller style ones that are close, i.e.39k for the 40k? does R4, the square one, need to be a special make? this is awesome info!!!

EG and VCF functions seem to work properly, but it is 1 octave lower.
i assumed i would just tune it up an octave, but then realized that
those metal trimmers, i believe, are not "infinite" pots, i.e. i dont
think i will be able to tune them up. is there something else i should
be doing? a jumper/mod on the board? thanks alot for your help.
There are some resistors that are different on the CS50/60 version of
the M-Board. Look at the tables on the right side of the schematic
here:
Assuming you have the M-Board you replaced, grab the resistors from it.
