My FT-920 displays an ERROR message whenever the mic or key is activated?
I cannot find anything in the instruction manual that address this message?

I'm not near my FT-920, so I'll just toss the question out there: Are you by chance operating on an amateur radio frequency?

Tom, Yes on the ham radio frequency(s), all bands/frequencies exhibit? the same ERROR msg. CW or SSB, both modes? Kind regards, Christopher

Vincenzo,The ERROR msg, has nothing assigned to it. Just ERROR pops up in the display? This only occurs on transmit; CW/SSB both modes come up with the ERROR in the display. Kind regards, Christopher

Mine does that in AM mode because I don't have that filter installed. Regards,

Christopher, Apologies for the stupid question. Have you tried to do a full reset of the radio? If not try.

You get your radio back to default parameters. Maybe there is a setting that you made and forgot which one is.
Let me know if solved with that step

I performed all of the resets, to no avail; then a hard-reset, still getting the ERROR message...sigh! Not sure where to go from here? The instruction manual provides nothing that I can use in-order to diagnose the problem? My only thought at this juncture, is that there is an issue that can not be resolved, by resets? The radio receives just fine, but when I try to transmit, an ERROR message shows up in the display, preventing the radio from transmitting.
SSB, or MOX, the ERROR diagnostic message appears. I have performed the various resets suggested in the manual, including the hard-reset.
The battery is good, and no other issues are apparent.
FYI transmitting is in the authorized ham bands. Help! Kind regards, Christopher

Check the memory battery if below 3v replace it.? ? ? Very common issue with this radio GENE MITCHELL. Kc0mqg

Unfortunately, I have not been able to get the ERROR message resolved. At this point, I am seeking suggestions for YAESU repair tech, and/or company that works on this particular radio. Thank you in advance for your suggestions. Kind regards, Christopher
