Got the radio re-assembled the other day. Installed LED's in place of the three incandescent bulbs. Trying diffused yellow, as I've always felt the white bulbs gave the front panel a too-stark appearance. Might change my mind later.?
Made a few contacts on 20 and 75. All said the rig sounded great. Then suddenly kaput, no output on sideband! CW is fine. Strangely, the mic gain potentiometer inside the rig has gone open. Tried re-soldering the connections, and ran it end-to-end about 20 times. No change. So weird !!? So now I'm in need of a replacement. Or I suppose I could try disassembling the pot to fix it, but that seems doubtful. I've got all sorts of pots in my parts drawers, but not a one that's 470-1k ohm or so and would fit in that location.?
Minor item which will be solved soon enough, but a bit disappointing. Oh well, on to the internet I go to search for a replacement...
