Re: Removing the Encoder caps
thx again for your advise, Karl ... That worked for me too,- even I cleaned em in addition. I now saved the replacement encoders in my tool box and saved time because the soldering job was obsolete.

Re: Removing the Encoder caps
the issue we're referring to here has to do with new encoders, not the originals. The replacement kit that Syntaur sells uses a pot that doesn't meet the exact specs of the originals. Hence the issue.

Re: Removing the Encoder caps
Have you changed your encoders already? The reason I ask, ?This is how my encoders were behaving for awhile. (multiple clicks per Inc/Dec) ? Eventually? this got worse, so I pulled out my

I hear ya. And I can see where it would be useful depending on your style of programming. I'm just different when it comes to programming synths. I've been programming for over 20+ years and have come

Re: Xplorer on mac was/Removing the Encoder caps
it was called iControlMIDI and it wasn't as bad as it looked. Actually very functional for those synths that are more difficult to edit. I use it for my SQ-80m (prototype SQ-80 rack in an ESQm casing)

Re: Xplorer on mac was/Removing the Encoder caps
I don't think so mate. I did see an iPad editor for the Matrix and Xpander on ebay but it looked terrible. It was kinda generic and there were other synth editors by the seller that looked the same.

Re: Xplorer on mac was/Removing the Encoder caps
that may be, but I don't need this enough to spend $40 or $50 (can't remember) for Parallels, just for this one application.

Re: Xplorer on mac was/Removing the Encoder caps
Yes I use Xplorer with OSX using Windows via Parallels. Works great¡ with "coherence mode" switched on you would never know you were running Windows and it would look like a regular OSX app for the

Re: Xplorer on mac was/Removing the Encoder caps
I have a thread on that forum about trying to get xplorer to work with vmware fusion. I was not successful, and I don't think that there is yet a solution.

Re: Removing the Encoder caps
Xplorer has the advantage of showing you every parameter and modulation mapping at a glance which is why I really love it¡ also it works both ways¡ you can edit on the computer and also the synth

yup, its two clicks for me as well, and it doesnt always happen, just seems random. Xplorer looks cool, but I use hardware synths because I like using the different "hands-on" interface that each

Dont know ... If you have to turn the rotarys 3 times more for the same value change now,- which is exactly the case when 3 clicks produce a value change of + /- 1 only,- they will be worn out again
