Re: How to make snappy bass on Xpander ?
Even Andromeda strikes with a fast envelope. And sounds very close to a Voyager sometimes. Andromeda's envelopes are also software. Maybe a modern faster processor controller do the thing. But I've

Re: How to make snappy bass on Xpander ?
No. Xpander/Matrix-12 has software generated modifiers (LFOs, ENVs, VCAs) being too lame for percussive attack (bass) sounds. Its the weak point of these machines. You get the modulation capabilities

How to make snappy bass on Xpander ?
Maybe somebody can post a guideline how to make more snappier bass sounds on Xpander. Standard aproach like Saw Wave with Filter ADSR zero attack, short decay, zero sustain and release does not work

Re: Xpander: How do you remove the matte finish
Quite accidentally, I removed the matte finish partly on my Matrix-12. I had to clean off some of the foam from the road case which had adhered to the surface. I used denatured alcohol which removed

Re: How do you pan your Xpander voices
No go because thats 7 voices :-) In single patch mode, when I play the Xpander as a poly synth,- I have 2 voices in center and pan the others to L2, L1 and R1, R2. In multipatch mode there are more

Re: How do you pan your Xpander voices
that's only possible with the Matrix-12. Only way to do it with the Xpander is to create 6 variations of the same patch, each slightly detuned and assign them accordingly in multi-mode. Not as

Re: How do you pan your Xpander voices
also keep in mind that your voice pan settings also effects what type of sound you are using the Xpander for and how it will play into your mix. (eg...synth bass usually mono-centered, pads,

Re: How do you pan your Xpander voices
does seem key to have 1 or 2 middle voices in there and does not seem to mess up the beautiful stereo spread as all. I have experimented with L1, L2, R1, R2 a bit but still seem to have the L/R voices

Re: How do you pan your Xpander voices
I've always tried to get an even spread. with one or two voices sitting center and the rest gradually going L or R. you want at least one voice center so that you get better pan law definition. -omar

How do you pan your Xpander voices
Always been a L-R-L-R-L-R guy, but have been play around with L2, R2, L2, R2, L2, R2, and L-M-R-L-M-R of late and just curious what others are doing for the best spread. (-)

Re: Emulating OB 4 Voice Rotate Mode on Xpander
Thanks for your help, The Xpander is so good in single mode, sometimes we forget how powerful it can be in Multi mode.

Re: Emulating OB 4 Voice Rotate Mode on Xpander
:p, that's what I said in my first email. "set your zones to rotate". if you want each voice to trigger a different patch setting, then switch to "multi" mode and select a different patch for each

Re: Emulating OB 4 Voice Rotate Mode on Xpander
Figured it out. To emulate the 4 voice programmer you also want to set each Zone Mode to Rotate. Make sure each zone is on the same channel in MIDI/CV. Anyone have a Good Lyle Mays style thick SEM

Re: Emulating OB 4 Voice Rotate Mode on Xpander
Not quite, The 4 Voice rotates through the 4 SEMS in Rotate mode on its programmer, one vice at time, and you can have different or slight different patches on each SEM, thats more what I am after on

Emulating OB 4 Voice Rotate Mode on Xpander
Is there and what is the best way to simulate the Oberheim 4 Voice Rotate mode, where each key press goes to a different SEM Module (and theoretically, sound) and each voice keeps triggering (playing)
