New version 0.19.0
#R1CBU-Firmware
Just a quick one re the R1CBU 0.1.71? version, I wonder if anyone still has a copy that they would be kind enough to upload please,?I have tried to find a working download location for it for quite a while this morning and it seems now to be no longer available from Oleg's page or anyplace else for that matter!
Perhaps if Oleg could make the link available again from his site? I too tried the 0.1.9 version a while back when the link was posted, and aside from the font and colour scheme which I couldn't get used to as it kind of hurt my eyes, the CW decoding I found to be very poor, i'd like to try the 0.1.71 version to see how that fares. |

So, running R1CBU 0.1.71 and base v1.1.6 CW is nothing short of amazingI recommend updating the basic one to 1.1.7. Some inaccuracies when working with the battery have been corrected there. In version 1.1.6, the battery capacity is calculated simply based on the current voltage (which is not correct). Version 1.1.7 already calculates real consumption based on current. Although version 1.1.7 still has errors (full charge and full discharge are not calculated correctly) My friend is also a programmer, but not a radio amateur; he recently bought an X6100 specifically to help him figure out the BB firmware of the STM32 processor. Perhaps things will move forward! |
I will setup a reference TX Oleg to test the decoding levels and let you know the results.
Out of interest, I have base FW of 1.1.6 Mar 7th and APP v1.1.7 on the radio...? The reason I kept the 1.1.6 base band firmware was that the stock base firmware (1.1.7) had issues with CAT and I found this stock combination worked well.? So, running R1CBU 0.1.71 and base v1.1.6 CW is nothing short of amazing. ?As soon as I update to R1CBU 0.1.8 or 0.1.9 CW pretty much becomes unusable. I'll let you know how the tests go on a reference TX Oleg |

Latest updates indeed do not function well, as Scott and I reported. You would make my life a lot easier if you provided real comparisons of versions. For example, using a second (reference) transceiver loaded onto the equivalent of an antenna from which telegraph transmission would take place. But apparently I'll have to do it myself. And for some reason I’m sure you won’t like the result. |

I have the same experience as @scot forshaw, previous versions of the CW
decoder worked amazingly well (especially compared with the Xiegu stock
decoder). |

Does your FW rely n the original base FW at all? I ask because I recently updated the the latest stock FW also..Partially, all signal processing occurs in the BB processor - I cannot change this part yet. But I have installed BASE: V1.1.7 for a long time and everything works well. |
Hi Oleg,
thanks for your reply.? This morning I rolled back to V0.18 and found the same problem, at least on my radio. (decodes hang and mostly impossible to decode reliable) So, I tried rolling back to V 0.171 and the CW decoder came back 100% perfect !!!? For me V0.19 the decoder is not good in any but the best conditions - V 0.18 the same. V0.171 is amazingly good and every single QSO I tuned to (even bad signal) the decodes we quick, accurate and the text buffering was gone.? The problem I see on 0.18,0.19 is that the decoder sometimes goes blank and never decodes, or it is so tight on the filtering notch that it is almost impossible to get the signal on frequency so that decoding starts.? As soon as I loaded V0.171 my old amazing 6100 was back and tuning around almost any CW signal led to great performance. ?did try many many times with the the laster versions.? ?Does your FW rely n the original base FW at all? I ask because I recently updated the the latest stock FW also.. ?there is anything you want me to try, ?am happy to oblige. Thanks, Scot |

Some updating to V0.19 I have been having a lot of difficulty in getting CW decodes working with any reliability. ini V 0.17 the decoder was an outright awesome improvement of the stock one, but I am really struggling to get the new one to play ball.?Version 0.19.0 has exactly the same settings as in 0.17.0. Before the release, I checked the operation of the decoder. Does anyone know what CW peak and CW noise BETA are? How to set them upI guess I know (LOL).?These settings are set to optimal by default. I spent quite a lot of time on this. I should have removed them, but I left them for experimentation. Experiments have shown that it will not be possible to configure it even better. |
Hi Oleg, group.
Some updating to V0.19 I have been having a lot of difficulty in getting CW decodes working with any reliability. ini V 0.17 the decoder was an outright awesome improvement of the stock one, but I am really struggling to get the new one to play ball.? I often need to restart the radio to see any decodes after making any adjustments to CW settings (like the stock firmware used to just stop decoding for ages unless you restarted it)? The decodes are sporadic for me. Does anyone know what CW peak and CW noise BETA are? How to set them up? Thanks Scot |

This is not possible now. I already wrote that all DSP processing occurs in the BB processor. The firmware of which is still closed. There have been works to decompile it, but it seems to me that it will never be completed. |
Hi Oleg I think I know the answer,? Is it possible to do a EQ for the mic input, As the tx filter is 2.5 cutoff, I could see this in the SDR RSP Due, or do I have to do some filtering in the mic end, Thanks Dave 2E0DMB On Sun, 10 Dec 2023, 09:37 davebb123456 via , <davidbrowne76=[email protected]> wrote:
