New version 0.18.0
#R1CBU-Firmware
Silly question that I'm hoping someone can quickly answer. I am doing more CW now with the x6100 and often need to use the XIT function to aid in pile-ups, etc. I usually end up just "stumbling" into where that particular setting is located in the GUI - but can never find it again when I'm specifically looking for it! Pretty sure it's tied directly off of the MFK, but last night I tried every combination of button pushing and knob twirling and as usual, couldn't find it. Running version 18 of the R1CBU firmware, but I'd had this problem going back at least a few versions.
Also - new to this version is the much-anticipated CW memory function - and it works very well with the observation that if the "message send" screen is showing, neither the MFK nor the VOL-SQL-RFG knobs appear to function... meaning if I want to turn the VOL up for some reason, etc., I need to press another function button to exit the "message send" screen so they operate.. Thanks & 73 - Daniel/K4DB |

There is information about this in the documentation -?https://r1cbu.ru/index.php/home/radio-software/x6100/11-user-manual neither the MFK nor the VOL-SQL-RFG knobs appear to function... meaning if I want to turn the VOL up for some reason, etc., I need to press another function button to exit the "message send" screen so they operate.Yes, only the VOL encoder works in dialog boxes. It only adjusts the volume. The MFK encoder begins to perform element selection functions and replaces the "Enter" button. You can already use an external USB keyboard. I plan to make flexible settings for its functions if suddenly there are not enough buttons and encoders. Now I have already made settings for the functions of the HMic buttons - this will be in the next version. |

newbie here w the 6100. i operate 99.9% cw? pota, and even the R1CBU cw message memory seems clunky. ( tho havent tried it, just reading posts about it) ; best solution i think is to use a pico keyer ( or similar) , plug it into key jack and set the 6100 to straight key mode.
what am i missing? -- de k8zf, randy |
Dan, I'm not aware of CW related problems with the X6100. I think an external keyer is overkill. Your thoughts? I do however agree with N1RBD that the minimum Beacon Interval (i.e. memory repeat delay) being 10s is a bit too much for my liking. I usually find that when I am calling CQ POTA I like about a 6 or 7 second pause.? I would be nice to see a little more granularity between 5 and 10 seconds for this setting.? Cheers Michael VE3WMB? P.S. There is nothing to prevent you from using both an external keyer and the internal CW memories in the R1CBU firmware. The memories still work in straight-key mode. For POTA, I sometimes use a Palm Paddle with the companion Code Cube keyer, which has one easily accessible memory button. I use that for a short 1X1 CQ POTA call? and if I am not getting a response after a few calls I will use the R1CBU CW memory to call in a loop until someone calls me back..? |
Access and setting up the X6100's CW memory is a chore.? I would like for the memories to have easier access, direct one button access.?

I prefer an external keyer... 1. R1CBU beacon minimum time is 10s.? Way too long for SPOTA IMHO. 2. Ease of quickly changing keyer speed 2a. Lets me leave the multifunction knob free for RIT 3. Easy to change messages via paddle |
开云体育I prefer an external keyer...Me too! In any case!
I use the fantastic K16 from K1EL or another one from a
club in Spain. Saludos. Diego. EA1CN
