Sticky My understanding of the X6100

Exactly! Very creative piece of kit. I'm actually quite surprised that nobody else (to my knowledge) has ever thought of doing such a thing. Having lots of fun with mine...

Robert, there is another radio in development that is centered around a Pi4

From the WIKI:

The BITX transceiver was originally developed by Ashhar Farhan for Indian hams -- who have often been handicapped by a lack of low cost equipment -- to get them on air.? A mono-band, bi-directional, design using ordinary NPN transistors was developed to cater to this demand.? The design could be adapted to any particular ham band by changing the RF section coils and capacitors and the VFO frequency.

Farhan's original website:?

I have this radio for sale. There have been two hardware updates shipped out and I am not able to apply them.
My age has left me with only one good eye and my hands are not stable to work with surface mount components.

I have purchased a 6100 and will pick it up in May to bring back to Costa Rica in my luggage to avoid the high Customs costs.
I am hopeful my sBitx will sell and ship during the same visit to Colorado.

If you like to work on hardware issues this xBitx is an ideal base. The group is also considering changing the UI

I think that your perspective on the X6100 is spot-on :-)
