FM RX/TX issues

 

Hi everyone,
Has anyone encountered problems using the X6100 in FM mode on 10m?
Recently, I paired mine with a 4m transverter from UR3LMZ, and several of my contacts reported low modulation levels, even with the mic gain set to the maximum (50). Additionally, the received signals were noticeably noisy.
At first, I suspected the transverter might be the issue, but after testing directly on the 10m band with another transceiver, I observed the same results. Interestingly, everything works perfectly in SSB mode.
Has anyone else experienced similar behavior, or could there be something I'm overlooking?

I guess I know where FM signal demodulated within decompiled BASE firmware. Perhaps, it might be multiplied by some value for increasing modulation level. I'll take a look.

I found a value to adjust FM modulation level. In attached base firmware it's increased 3 times. Hope it will be enough.

Thank you! I’ll test that change soon and let you know if it changed anything.

In the meantime I’m playing with creating raspbian image for x6100 with Vara modem and PAT instance, to use it for sending emails through Winlink nodes without additional devices.

Never knew the FM was quiet until this thread as I have not yet used it. It was indeed quiet. Tried the updated firmware. Works perfect. Nice loud volume without over deviating. Great job Georgy!
Hoping we can still have wider bandwidth SSB in the future.

Would it be too much to ask if you could do this for base 1.1.6_160 also? Thanks.
 

I'll take a look a bit later.
If you familiar with ghidra - you can try to find corresponding place in code using attached files as a guildeline (for 1.1.8)
