Re: Cannot connect to WiFi with a space in the password
#bugs
It's under /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ on the rootfs (ext4). This partition of SD card is invisible under Windows. ? If you can't change you SSID - and I understand why, perhaps you can add an inexpensive AP or configure an old router as an AP with an SSID it can work with. ? |

I wonder if the password is saved as text and one may be able to find and edit the file manually.? A pain for sure but may have a solution faster than waiting for an update that may never come.

I've pointed this out many times on FB but maybe not here.? I would not hold your breath for a next release. On Jan 8, 2025 8:51 PM, "robert.hadow via groups.io" <robert.hadow@...> wrote:

I spent a half day trying to connect to SSID "AAA BBB".? Then I tried another router named, "CCC_DDD". It worked just fine.?
?
The X6100 successfully found the SSID and copied it into the SSID field when I hit the Configure button. But it won't use it to join the local LAN.
?
This reminds me of the first true UNIX guru I knew.? His password included a backspace.? Yes, it was legal.?

When is the next Xiegu release expected?? I cannot change my SSID.? Nor can I yet connect with USB. |
Re: 50/6m Mic Button sekection
Hi Georgy Thank you for your quick reply. Yes I agree with the key name of a dot (.) because that is what it is labelled. A long press on it is then able to manually save a 6m band frequency which corresponds to the 50 (50Mhz) also labelled on the (.) button. A short press recalls the frequency. It then behaves the same? as buttons 1-9 Many thanks for all your efforts. 73. John. 2E0JJC On Wed, 8 Jan 2025, 12:35 Georgy Dyuldin via , <g.dyuldin=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Battery or external power for radio use (transmit)
You can use either the ext or int?battery for x6100 operations xmt and rcv. Just with int battery get 5 w output. With ext get 10w.?

Also can charge int battery using external battery but do not operate the rig when charging. Radio will overheat ? And turn off charging when operating? 73 Ron n9ee? On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, 7:56 AM, David Gerhart <DAVID@...> wrote:

No it defaults back to the saved band outside the FT8 app

Battery or external power for radio use (transmit)
New to this radio, pardon me if this question is clarified elsewhere... but I haven't found the answer in the documentation or in group threads...
?
Just so I'm getting this straight.
?
DO *NOT* use the wall charger for transmission.? It's never shown me the proper voltage and it trickles just a few miliamps.
?
DO use an external power source 3.4A @ 13.8V (with the software charging switch turned to 'off' (per pg. 127 of the extended user guide.)
?
I'd use my deep cycle 12v battery and it's charger... tied to the radio via the power pigtail that came in the box.
?
Otherwise use the radio on battery only.? Unless the use is reception only?
?
The instructions and logic here seem pretty muddy.
?
Thanks in advance for helping me grok the conventions.

Re: RF power button R1CBU firmware
Hmmm. I guess it might be tricky. There are no free encoder to bind this function to it. Also, pressing on VOL encoder behaves like escape.
Perhaps, I'll find a way how to control it in a handy way without leaving FT8 application, not sure. BTW, I thought I made preserving band while opening FT8 app (if you tuned on 20M - it should open 20M with FT8 too).? --

Re: 50/6m Mic Button sekection
Hi John.
Current implementation uses 1-9 buttons as a load memory (with a short press) or save memory (with a long press). I guess, I can assign same behavior to a dot (.) button, but it will behaves like other (no default memory value, no limitations of storing frequencies). So - you will need to manually save a desired frequency value with long press on this button.

RF power button R1CBU firmware
It would be nice if the RF power could be adjusted without leaving the APPs of FT8 ect.? ?When I switch bands I need to change power level for amplifier.? On the lower bands 0.5 watts is enough drive but as I go above 20 I have to start increasing to get the same output.? Right now it's a hassle as it drops you of of FT8 and you end up back on default band ect.
