Re: Root access after firmware update.
Not sure where the DATA partition is. This may be the issue of my current problem. The R1CBU SD card has the following: boot.scr sun8i-r16-x6100.dtb zlmage I copied X6100_BBFW_V1.1.8_240915003_160.xgf straight to the sd card. The first 2 commands seemed to do something. cp /mnt/X6100_BBFW_V1.1.8_240915003_160.xgf /tmp/mnt/usr/firmware/ ?shows the following error. Can't stat '/mnt/X6100_BBFW_V1.1.8_240915003_160.xgf' no such file or directory I checked the mnt folder. All I see is app_logs, ft_log.adi, msg, params.db, quo_log.db and rec I really appreciate your patience with this and I am excited that we seem to be getting closer to a solution. Thanks again. Re: Root access after firmware update.
If you booted with R1CBU firmware and your xgf file was copied to the DATA partition, do next:
* connect to radio with PuTTY * execute next commands:
* Reboot to OEM firmware

Many thanks for this.
Rebooted and tried loads of times. Suddenly started working.
Just trying to work out how to save the changes. I'll update shortly. Many thanks.
Finally got full tx. Thank you so much!
One final thing. Is there a way to copy over the X6100_BBFW_V1.1.8_240915003_160.csv file to the radio to update the firmware to wider audio?
I have put the file on an sd card and need to figure how to copy it to?/usr/firmware.
?
Thanks again. |
Re: Root access after firmware update.
Hi Georgy.
?
Thank you for your quick reply. Greatly appreciated.
Wifi seems connected. Even tried filezilla. It says connection established, Waiting for welcome message. Its almost like the radio will not allow access.
This is a brand new radio purchased 3 days ago. I hope they have not changed anything. My original x6100 had no issues before a small thunderstorm.
How would I go about the cable connection?

Re: R1CBU firmware 0.27.0
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýEven more unique is the ¡°DX-FT-8¡± tablet-radio for FT8 only. Smaller, lighter, but less than 1 watt in high power. But is all in one. Only things you need is a DC source and antenna. Look it up onGitHub.?This information is only presented to answer your question. This is a prebuilt (mostly) two board semi-kit.? Paul F. Re: R1CBU firmware 0.27.0
Thanks, Scot, for the report. It inspired me to finally test out the R1CBU FT8 app and I am very impressed with the functionality.
Looking forward to trying this out on my next park activation! Just curious if anyone knows, are there any other rigs with this "stand-alone" FT8 capability or is this unique to this rig & this firmware? ?

Root access after firmware update.
Just purchased an X6100 after previous one blew up.
Unfortunately it has the latest firmware APP 1.1.9 Base 1.1.8.
I can no longer login using either WinSCP or PuTTY
I have downgraded to all previous firmware and app versions and the problem is still there.
WinSCP hangs on Connecting to host then displays Network Error. Software caused connection abort.
PuTTY comes up with the same error.
Could they have changed something to make root impossible?
Would really love to get the 160Hz firmware and open tx in there.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: R1CBU firmware 0.27.0 WATERFALL station labels
Hi Greg, I added an issue on Git but wonder what other may make of this idea??
?
Hi Greg, I am suggesting the ability for the UI to read a disc based station file and populate labels on the waterfall in a way like a regular WEB SDR. This may allow a script to obtain live station data for broadcast radio from sources like and radio reference or display saved memories on the WF etc. As you have now made such an amazing job of making the radio a joy on AM SWL, the ability to live pull on air stations would be a massive boost for the radio in my opinion. A script could be setup to pull data to a file, if the UI could pull that and display it on the WF. There are any number of other ways to refine it, but as a baseline that would be good. Cheers |
Re: R1CBU firmware 0.27.0
Hi Gregory,
?
I took the x6100 with 0.27 out into the wilds yesterday and had a great activation! This FW is truly improved so much mate. Thank you so much! 14 FT8 iso in 45 minutes on 20 & 15m using a random wire in a tree with no matching, just wire and internal ATU. Got home, popped the SD card in my iMAC and had logged the entire activation in under 2 minutes. Brilliant!

Re: Replacement Internal Battery
These batteries are essentially a bag. If you pull too many amps, they will heat up and expand, and possibly explode in flames. The same can happen if charged too quickly. It is not the greatest source of energy, but their design allows them to be put into small spaces. If your battery has stopped working properly, it would be a good idea to check it to see if it has swelled. |
DroidSSTV
On the off chance anybody has used the DroidSSTV android app on a Samsung phone ( a Note 8 in my case) coupled with their X6100, has anybody been able to redirect the app's audio-out to the phone's usb-C port. My current setup uses a usb-C to usb-C/A OTG splitter with the C side to the radio's DEV port and the A side to the phone charger. Unlike the FT8CN app, which has CAT and also pipes the app's audio directly to the DEV port (when using the radio's USB-D setting), the DroidSSTV app has no CAT (not a big deal) and doesn't seem able to redirect the app's audio to the phone's usb-c port. The workaround is to key the mic and hold it close to the phone's speaker and it works fine but it would be nice to be able just key the mic and not have to hold it to the phone. The app's help file doesn't address it. I'm guessing it's just a limitation of the app itself but I thought I'd throw it out there to see it anybody else uses the app.
?
Thanks,?
