I'm using USB type Ethernet adaptor to connect radio, seems I never connect it to my WiFi - so I have no advice. Only one thing - wifi antenna on the transceiver is very small - it might be helpful to move it closer to your router.

Looks like I missed something in the base image. Will check and publish a fix.

Hi Georgy
Great work. Unfortunatelly got stucked with 'Problem with create file' when trying audio record. Before, it was ONLY with missing rec/ dir in DATA part. Now rec/ dir got populated with 'REC_*.mp3' files, but all 0 bytes. Looked into app_logs files and found lines like this:?
[Error] ? ?(35.955, +3325) ? ? create_file: Problem with create file: File contains data in an unimplemented format. ? ? (in recorder.c line #46)
Tried also MSG Rec and got 0 bytes 'MSG_*.mp3' in msg/ but 'Problem with create file' not appeared on screen, ONLY in app_logs files:
[Error] ? ?(57.825, +3060) ? ? create_file: Problem with create file: File contains data in an unimplemented format. ? ? (in dialog_msg_voice.c line #128)
Was curious, so started grepping last sentence. Found it in /usr/lib/libsndfile.so.1.0.34 and /usr/lib32/libsndfile.so.1.0.34. Just letting know. So far I`m happy with 8x zoom including waterfall.

I wonder if my understanding of your post is correct: Filter High/Low change, or DFL FIL1..3 (in OEM) does ONLY affect RX and no changing TX passband?

Re: Patched BASE firmware with changed TX audio filter low cutoff frequency #firmware

Georgy,
I think what you have discovered (300-3000Hz Bandpass) is the cause of problems with nearby strong CW signals desensitizing reception of weaker signal in the narrow filter. Either AGC is applied to this wider bandwidth before the narrow filtering or the strong signal overloads the radio. It is too bad that the 300-3000 filter isn't made narrower corresponding to the mode: CW, RTTY, PSK31.

Hi.
Original BASE firmware applies bandpass filter to input signal. Cutoff frequencies is 300 Hz and 3000 Hz. I checked with different modulations (AM, FM, SSB, SSB digital) by passing a noise signal as an input.
For my point of view 300 Hz is too high. I patched firmware and changed this frequency to 160 Hz.
Also, I recorded some samples using my SDR, original X6100 microphone, using SSB modulation. I tried to reproduce same conditions for each of records, but for the recording with 160 Hz filter I forgot to turn off my analog compressor.

I prepared 2 patched versions: for 1.1.6 BASE (2022) and for 1.1.7 BASE (latest, 2024)
Audio samples and patched firmware available at

Disclaimer: I tested it on my transceiver, but can't guarantee, that it will work on your device.

Installing procedure:
1. Connect transceiver to WiFi
2. Connect to transceiver with WinSCP (or FileZilla)
3. Copy one (or both) of the xgf files from link above to the /usr/firmware.
4. Open System settings -> Firmware upgrade on transceiver, choose uploaded file and update.
5. Check system info - BASE version should contain "160Hz"

Steps 1 and 2 are the same as for opening TX ()

?Hi Georgy,

thanks for taking this issue into consideration.

I have a fellow OM here who bought his X6100 upon my advice and has got it new from a french retailer.

It is most probably of a newer HW edition than mine. He has no power issues with your FW, same release as I'm using.

I do see the warning message about the reduced power to 5W... I wish I had these 5W!

It seems Jens/HB9JOI experiences a similar issue (see below) and would appreciate some advise on how to clear this limitation.

Hello,
Ibought X6100 before 2 years.
All is ok, but decoding of BPSK31 not in order, can you someone put me the configuration for decode BPSK31?

Autrewise, I see then some people change the program of X6100 to one another based on Linux. There is also too many of bugs in all versions...
Xiegu made one uptodate to 1.8 original programm, I see on this forum that someone was very happy to install it and also someone was very unhappy to install the new version original.
I like to know what to doing I have an 1.7 version original of X6100.
