Modified BASE firmware - rev2
Hi.
?
New version of the modified BASE firmware with FM squelch -
This time I decided to push 2 versions - with r2 suffix and with r2_plus15.5
Second is for the radio with issues with output power due to hardware difference, 15.5 means +15.5 dB to the TX signal level.
?
Full changelog:
?
Also, I found a way to add more controls for the MAIN -> BASE communication, by using gaps (unused bits) within i2c registers. It might be handy to make a compressor (or other features) more flexible (tuning compressor/gate threshold, makeup gain, etc). Such features might be added to R1CBU, but maybe someone will add the same to OEM gui application.

Re: Message record
With OEM firmware you can try to fix it with replacing within /etc/init.d/S51amixer
amixer -c 0 sset 'Mic1 Boost',0 0 1> /dev/null
with
amixer -c 0 sset 'Mic1 Boost',0 1 1> /dev/null
?
This enables mic boost for audio comes from BASE to MAIN (messages recording, CW decoding)

Re: x6100 WFSERVER ip address

Agreed. That will not work. Your x6100 has to be in the same IP range as your router. I highlighted the error in bold in my quote above. Your x6100 might be able use 192.168.1.18 if nothing else on your network took that IP, but not 192.168.5.18. Typically most routers are 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. I find it odd yours is 192.168.1.4. That¡¯s typically the IP of another device on the network. ?
Here¡¯s a good link with info on how to find out your DNS servers IP on all 3 popular OS¡¯s (Mac / Linux / Windows)

Re: x6100 WFSERVER ip address
Pretty sure that won¡¯t work. You¡¯ve got a class D IP, with different routing requirements.
192.168.5.18 and 192.168.1.4. Unfortunately, we can¡¯t see the netmask in the x6100. If it¡¯s 255.255.255.0 - won¡¯t work. You¡¯ll need 255.255.0.0 to route between the two networks. Router is 192.168.1.4 - x6100 needs to be something in the 192.168.1.[1-254] range. |
Re: x6100 WFSERVER ip address
Here is how I have tried to configure the X6100 in WLAN settings.
iolar is the SSID of my WiFi (Eero router).
Password is my wifi password.
192.168.5.18 is the X6100 Reserved IP Address I entered into the router.
192.168.1.4 is the IP Address of my router.
DNS Server I entered same as Gateway address because that is what is shown in the X6100 manual.
?
the WF and WiFi Icons show on the main screen of the X6100.
XIEGU-X6100 shows up as active on my router Device List.

Re: x6100 WFSERVER ip address
Hi Denis, You may already know this but I use an IP scanner program to see what IPs are active on my LAN segments. I've used several but an open source one that I use often is AngryIP, available here: You can interrogate individual IPs --- ping, telnet, http, etc. --- and it helps spot new devices very effectively. 73, Frank K4FMH |
Re: Modified BASE firmware - rev1
2 or 3 times I saw no power output on AM - first press - power increases, than decreases, next press - no power. I guess, it's due to ALC working - switching to another mode and back to AM restores power. Than it works without issues.
It always happend right after resetting BASE (for example - after installing firmware). ?
There are 2 versions - on the github (same as I'm using) and attached to my message - with +10db (comparing github version). I adjusted signal levels to output 10W on FM and 5W on AM, when transceiver configured to 10W. My goal was to decrease strength of ALC with same output power and decrease output signals (and noise), when radio working with not full output power.
BTW, good new - I managed to add squelch for FM. Still need some time for testing, hope will publish before end of this week. --

Re: x6100 WFSERVER ip address
WFview works best with an ethernet connection. Use a USB-ethernet adapter (any c-type that say they work with Linux/Raspberry Pi) and then look for that listing on your router. Works like a champ for me. I use the latest Raddioddity FW. Unfortunately R1CBU does not support WFserver. |
