Re: No-code styles customization for R1CBU/R2RFE firmware
I love the colors but when working FT8, the SWR and ALC lines are superimposed on the waterfall.? Is there a way to change the settings so this does not happen?? I took off all the magnifcations in settings and it does not change it.? I've posted pictures of both the original and the Color-Mod versions. |
Re: No-code styles customization for R1CBU/R2RFE firmware
Thank you very much for the work you have done.? That is to all of the contributors.
?
Can you clarify how you restart the GUI?? Is it just restarting the radio or do I need to do something else?? I'm just playing around with the customization just because I can because of your work so I'm just curious.
?
Thanks in advance. |
Re: Radioddity Updates

I was frustrated trying to use a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect from my laptop to the X-6100.
?
There are a lot of current electronics where the manufacturers have not implemented the USB-C interface correctly. It's getting better as so many consumers have complained. But the X-6100 was one of them that did it wrong.
?
I know for most items it was a trace that wasn't pulled to ground for PD power detection. The solution was to use a USB-C cable that was also wired wrong, which were common. Same with data. For my drone flight-controller I had to use a non-PD cable.
?
The workaround for the X-6100 is pretty simple. Use a common USB-C to USB-A (male) cable, then a USB-A female to USB-C pigtail. I have a lot of these pigtails, since my laptop only has USB-C ports, and I needed the pigtail often to connect any USB-A cable (or USB-A thumb-drive). That worked perfectly for me with the X-6100, but as a USB-C purist, it really girds. ?\_(¥Ä)_/?
?
Pigtail
Cheap 3-pack that works fine
or more expensive one with various certifications
For the USB-A to USB-C cable, instead of the cheap kind you get with so many devices at the Dollar Store, I got a good one with ferrites to help with any stray RF entering the cable (a very common proglem). ?
Hope this helps.

Re: Radioddity Updates

I have two configurations. One, simplest, the second with most options. 1. Cable one USB Cable for the USB port on your computer to USB A MALE. The seconds is the OTG Cable with USB A female to Type C ?male to the 6100. 2. Cable two uses a 4 way USB OTG adapter with USB C, USB Mini, APPLE Lightening, uSB A Female. Then just a ?USB A male USB Type C male to connect to X 6100. (See adapter on left side of attached picture) There are other cable combinations available. But I can not tell you by name brand what cables I have use because Thames are not on the cables. Good luck! Paul F Beeman W2PB? Paul, thanks for responding. What brand of OTG did you use and specifically what cable did you use to run from the adapter to the X6100?

Try adding a On The Go (OTG) adapter in the output of your computer. You go from USB-C to USB-A on the OTG. Cured my X6100 interface problems.? Paul F Beeman W2PB On Tue, Apr 15, 2025 at 16:10 Mike NN3I via <winebike=[email protected]> wrote:

Radioddity Updates
#Digital
My X6100 came with Mar 7, 2023 APP V1.1.6 and BASE V1.1.6. Currently, Radioddity has 2024-09-23 APP V1.1.9 and BASE V1.1.8 available for download. I'm thinking about loading these. Are there any cautions I need to be aware of? If these updates go well, I¡¯d like to try the great-looking APP software being developed by contributors to this group. On another subject, my biggest issue right now is getting WSJT working. It worked okay with my old laptop. My new Dell laptop has USB-C ports only, and my X6100 doesn't seem to like a USB-C cable connection alone. Using a USB-A to USB-C adapter at the laptop interface, and then a USB-A to USB-C cable, allows my Dell to recognize the two USB ports on the X6100. I¡¯m using data cables. Sometimes it will receive FT8 but not transmit. Other times, it doesn't work at all. I've tried various cables and adapters. Is it a driver issue with the X6100 not being compatible with USB-C standards? Reversing the cable with the adapter apparently also reverses which unit is acting as the host, so it's a one-way data path. In my case, things only worked when the USB-C to USB-A adapter was used on the laptop end¡ªnot on the X6100 end. This is all very frustrating for an old analog ham who doesn¡¯t have any hair left to pull out. Has anyone successfully gotten their X6100 to interface with WSJT using only a USB-C cable between the DEV port and their laptop? If so, what firmware/software were you using? --

I am not home but doesn't.28 make use of a configurable band plan that you can set permitted tx frequencies through the webserver? On Apr 15, 2025 8:21 AM, "K1FRA via groups.io" <k1fra@...> wrote:

Re: X6100 firmware/R1CBU
Bob,
version 1.1.4 from February 2022 is more than three years old and Xiegu made many changes to it (both in the GUI application and in the baseband firmware) that I am not at all surprised it doesn't work with R1CBU/R2RFE custom firmware.
?
If I were you, I would first upgrade both app and base to the latest release from Xiegu, make sure your radio is able to receive and transmit with Xiegu's release (if it doesn't, then you know for sure it is a Xiegu's software/hardware problem), repeat that test a few times, and once you feel comfortable, upgrade the app part to R1CBU/R2RFE.

X6100 firmware/R1CBU
I posted this topic in the R1CBU group but not much going on there so I thought I'd throw it out here to see if were any thoughts on it.
?
I have a 6100 (unit 1) using the R1CBU v.28 firmware with great results. I picked up another second hand 6100 (unit 2) and loaded the v.28 firmware. While it loaded fine and some of the features work, unit 2 will not transmit or receive. FYI, the factory tx/rx works fine w/o the R1CBU firmware installed.
?
I compared the factory app/base firmware in each unit and find the following:
Unit 1:
App v.1.1.7 8/25/23
Base v.1.1.6 3/7/23
?
Unit 2:
App v.1.1.4 2/16/22
Base v.1.1.4? 2/15/22
?
My question to the group:
Does the R1CBU firmware rely on the factory firmware in some respects and could the fact that the unit 2 firmware is outdated be the reason for the lack of tx/rx on unit 2? I will update unit 2 firmware if needed.
?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.?

Re: X6100 BASE firmware with compressor/noise gate
Thank you. I guess it might be due to high mic gain "moves" EMI from gate branch to compressor branch of the transfer curve - and it became amplified stronger,? that without compression. I did some measurements and will try to replace peak detector to RMS detector within the compressor. I guess it will allow to mitigate such situations. §Ó§ã, 13 §Ñ§á§â. 2025 §Ô., 18:16 wicknix via <wicked5850=[email protected]>:

but feedback is appreciated All seems well with this 1.1.6 base modification. The only thing i noticed is that i have to turn my mic gain down for it to not feedback or make strange sounds (over driven?). I use to run mic gain at 45 with stock mic, now i¡¯m running it at 20-25. If that¡¯s normal with compression enabled, then no issues to report. Thanks much. |
Re: Color modified v0.29.2 x6100_gui and sdcard.img
If you had downloaded this on friday or saturday it¡¯s the wrong sdcard.img. I somehow mistakenly uploaded the version i had made before i added Franco¡¯s styles feature. The correct new-theme-sdcard.img is now available from the same link above. Sorry about that.? |
Re: Color modified v0.29.2 x6100_gui and sdcard.img
I've released a new sdcard.img with a new theme and Franco's no-code style customization was added as well. It's loosely based on the Simple theme. Download here:
