That would be good.

BTW, I thought I made preserving band while opening FT8 app (if you tuned on 20M - it should open 20M with FT8 too).

No it defaults back to the saved band outside the FT8 app

Battery or external power for radio use (transmit)

New to this radio, pardon me if this question is clarified elsewhere... but I haven't found the answer in the documentation or in group threads...
?
Just so I'm getting this straight.
?
DO *NOT* use the wall charger for transmission.? It's never shown me the proper voltage and it trickles just a few miliamps.
?
DO use an external power source 3.4A @ 13.8V (with the software charging switch turned to 'off' (per pg. 127 of the extended user guide.)
?
I'd use my deep cycle 12v battery and it's charger... tied to the radio via the power pigtail that came in the box.
?
Otherwise use the radio on battery only.? Unless the use is reception only?
?
The instructions and logic here seem pretty muddy.
?
Thanks in advance for helping me grok the conventions.

Re: 50/6m Mic Button sekection

Hi John.
Current implementation uses 1-9 buttons as a load memory (with a short press) or save memory (with a long press). I guess, I can assign same behavior to a dot (.) button, but it will behaves like other (no default memory value, no limitations of storing frequencies). So - you will need to manually save a desired frequency value with long press on this button.

RF power button R1CBU firmware

It would be nice if the RF power could be adjusted without leaving the APPs of FT8 ect.? ?When I switch bands I need to change power level for amplifier.? On the lower bands 0.5 watts is enough drive but as I go above 20 I have to start increasing to get the same output.? Right now it's a hassle as it drops you of of FT8 and you end up back on default band ect.
?
Thanks, Gregg W9DHI

50/6m Mic Button sekection

Hi Georgy
Is it possible to have the Mic Button marked 50 to be programed to select the 6m band please?

Decoder delay

Hello,

My CW decoder was working fine: decoding the station I was working immediately?after I TX'd. Now, for some?reason, it takes a lot of time to read what the other station is CWing. Any suggestions on what?I can?do (AGC has always been off, firmware has always been APP/BASE: V1.1.6 Mar 7, 2023)?

Re: LINE IN LV and LINE OUT LV

Thank you, Rainer,
?
I thought that was a possibility, but the names do not lead you to that conclusion and the manual is less than helpful in explaining.

Take Care,

Re: Noise level out of control

Thanks you Ranier for the answer I did try with AGC A/S/F and it is actually worst, I have use the Radio twice. I notice yesterday on a Pota Activation, I had hell of a time trying to get the Call sign for the incoming station due to this issue. Never the less I did try again switching the AGC with not luck...

Re: Noise level out of control

AGC is off, try "AGC Auto". The switching transient during release of the PTT is the culprit.

Dan,

those are the audio ports of the internal soundcard (C-Media CM108). There is also a USB-to-UART Bridge (WCH CH342) and a USB hub. (USB Device port, the Allwinner R16 SoC is connected to the Host port).

Noise level out of control

X6100 on 10m with a Dummy load noise level is at S3 is I press PPT when I let go Noise level jump to S6 to S9 for a second them goes back to S3 is that normal? I have add a video is this normal I have never had this issue with any other radio.....

LINE IN LV and LINE OUT LV

Under the radio settings I see entrees for LINE IN LV and LINE OUT LV.? Can someone tell me what these settings impact?? As far as I can tell there is no line level input connector.? Does the S/P connector somehow double as an input and output?
?
Thanks,
Dan

It's issue of the ft8lib. I'll try to fix in one of the next release.

Have you tried it with shorter suffixes?? I know adding /P works for me.

Re: Patched BASE firmware with changed TX audio filter low cutoff frequency #firmware

I decided to go ahead and post the corrected frequency response plots here.
?
The ripple was completely pilot error.
?
It turns out that the X6100 TX image rejection is not so great.? For my demodulation I have been capturing IQ data at 44.1kHz centered on the X6100 TX set to 14.2 MHz for easy playing on my computer sound card.? When I created my SSB demodulation. I neglected to filter off the lower sideband, assuming that nothing was there.? On my radio the image rejection at lower frequencies is on the order of 30 dB.? The X6100 is tuned off about 2.5Hz from the vector signal analyzer I am using for analysis and the lower sideband was beating with the upper sideband in my demodulation code.? I added a filter to remove the lower sideband and the ripple is gone.? So the radio is fine and there is nothing crazy happening ALC wise or funny resonances.? Sorry for going down the rabbit hole.? BTW I wasted a bunch of time trying to get the ALC indicator to show up.? Hopefully they bring it back some day.

Re: R1CBU firmware 0.27.0

I'm not sure if this is an issue, or maybe I am doing something wrong. I am trying to use the FT8 functionality (very impressive, thanks for this!) but while it works well with my regular callsign it does not seem to work correctly with a long callsign required when I'm abroad. For example, I can call CQ G5LSI IO93 from home and it works well, but when I try to call CQ EA8/G5LSI IL18 the firmware goes into transmit mode and sends out tones as normal, but those tones are never decoded properly.?
?
I believe the string "CQ EA8/G5LSI IL18" may be to long for FT8. WSJTX automatically truncates long messages that are too long for FT8 (e.g. sending only "CQ EA8/G5LSI"), but I don't think the current version of the firmware does that. I tried to manually do that by deleting my gridsquare from the QTH setting, but it did not allow me to enter a blank string.
?
Any ideas?
?

Re: R1CBU no ALC when press the MIC

What do you mean you lost ALC?? On the X6100 the ALC should be 0 when operating normally.
