Re: Patched BASE firmware with changed TX audio filter low cutoff frequency #firmware

Thanks Georgy.
Actually my intent was to create a 'generic' script that in theory could be applied to any new Xiegu X6100 baseband firmware without any constraints on the checksum or the actual offsets of those changes.
My idea is that as we get more familiar with the X6100 baseband firmware, we could have a set of patches conceptually similar to your original one that could be applied to overwrite parts of the BB firmware to improve it.

Many thanks for your reply Georgy. Excellent work that we are all very thankful for.

v0.25.1 displaying as v0.25.0 ???

?
I have downloaded and installed v0.25.1 from GitHub. As the x6100 boots it briefly displays the firmware as being v0.25.0 not v0.25.1? I am a little confused. Have I installed the latest firmware?

Re: No power output

X6100 have a weak output transformer - I heard about a case, when using FT8 with high output power burnt it out (with a condenser) - (it's on Russian, but you can use auto translated cc).

Another variant - if you used ATU - you can try to switch to any DIGI mode and press PTT for a second.

Re: Patched BASE firmware with changed TX audio filter low cutoff frequency #firmware

Thanks Franko.

I created a bit more strict script for patching, while I apply changes to 1.1.8. It checks md5 of source before patching, uses predefined offsets for changes and checks, that content on each chunk is equal to expected original value.

Based on your patches to Xiegu BASE firmware, tonight I wrote a simple Python script (attached) that should apply the corresponding changes to future (or older) Xiegu BB firmwares (unless they change their code significantly, of course).
?
The script can be run as follows:
./patch-160Hz.py <original decrypted BASE firmware> <patched decrypted BASE firmware>

Sorry to hear.? Could an R1CBU 0.25.0 user report on your experience with this issue?? Did you experience FT8 TX issues that R1CBU 0.25 resolved?? Thanks for your input, and thanks to the developers of this firmware!? (I look forward to trying it).

Dear Tony and John,

unfortunately none of the upgrades worked for me. I do not if I will be able to find the receipt from the relatives of the SK to check if the warranty is still valid and then I could give it a try.

?

Its too sad to have the transceiver broken only by trying to work it via CAT.?

?

Many thanks for your replies, I will keep you updated for any changes.

Re: Factory reset... not working

I didnt set a root password, but I am also not the first owner of this radio. They may have changed it.
?
I am flashing it with 1.1.4 now. We will see what happens when I update that.?

Turning off the display has almost no effect on power consumption. Much more significant if BT/WiFi is disabled

I would bet that Factory Reset doesn't change/restore the user passwords... Did you previously (intentionally) change the root password? Maybe try that--

Re: No power output

It happened to me too, but it got hot first and showed to be transmitting at 24 watts!? Luckily mine was under warranty and Radioddity sent a replacement

I know this is an old thread, but I am facing the same issues, no output power after first try for FT8.
I managed to made the first and only QSO, but then no transmission.

Afterwards, no output power in any mode with internal and handle microphone,

Everything is properly set in radio (or also in software for FT8, where there I have tx, click sound, tuning, tx etx properly working) but without any output power).

I have tried so far 1.1.6, 1.1.7 (the firmware that the radio came with from a SK, and the latest of September 2024). Any ideas/solutions software related? I am afraid that probably something is broken inside the transceiver. Many thanks in advance for any help.

Try short push of power button?

However a display is only really mandatory for initial tuning after that its less useful
Especially for digi modes where you tend to lock to a single frequency

Re: Factory reset... not working

If you changed the root password on the system - you have 2 variants. First - flash an old xiegu firmware. Old versions rewrite all files on the system and should reset the root password. Second - boot from SD card (using R1CBU firmware, for example), mount internal storage and remove the root password hash in the /etc/shadows ()
