Re: X6100 Weird SWR Action

Rick :

I had a similar issue when first using my X6100 portable with my Alex Loop.? On a hunch I added a common mode choke to the feedline and then it behaved normally.
So, this could be a sign of common-mode currents on your feedline.?

cheers

Michael?

Re: X6100 Weird SWR Action

I noticed recently that while sending CW, the X6100 SWR meter consistently reads about 1:1.1 to 1:1.2, but at the end of the sequence, it bounces to around 2.5. On slow CW, 10 wpm, it bounces on each character. I have tried a number of supplies, but the bounce is the same. My antenna is a 31'vertical with remote tuner. None of my other rigs exhibit this problem.?Anyone else observed this behavior?

Get a shielded cable. ?Insert a USB ground loop isolator between the computer and transceiver. Move the transceiver further away from the computer. ?One or all of these suggestions should help with with the stray RF that is causing the disconnect.?

X6100 USB Issue

Hello all,

I am having an issue with the x6100, when I plug into the usb dev and into the computer running windows, it will show up two com ports working fine but when I try to use flrig or hrd software on the lower com port number in my case 4, I hear the windows sounds of an usb disconnecting then I'll get a pop up saying device malfunctioned and the com ports will dissapear sometimes.. I am using the icom 705 as the rig for both programs. I did get it to work once and was able to change frequencies for a bit but then got the usb device malfuctioned pop up and haven't been able to connect since. I tried 1.16 Nov firmware and the newest 1.17 cat fixed firmware and no change on either. Any help would be appreciated?
Alex?

and running a backup to SD card.

As I'm new in the X6100 field, I'm not sure
if already this infos not posted elsware.

If this is the case I apologize for redundancy

Out of interest, does Base band V1.1.7 CAT work when used with R1CBU ? It does not work using the stock UI app...?
The CAT interface is implemented in a GUI application. The BB version doesn't matter to it.

Here it is?

Re: Group Moderator Needed

Yes when I had a g90,
I set the TCXO using my gpsdo,?
So I asked what others g90 clocks are like , or something like that,
And he stopped the post saying it had nothing to do with the radio
Then I went to post how to wire up a relay to key a amp,
And he stopped that also, saying it is a QRP radio and no one will be interested,
I think he has made it useless, that could have been good as all the users seemed very polite, and wanted to learn,

Re: New version 0.19.0 #R1CBU-Firmware

Just a quick one re the R1CBU 0.1.71? version, I wonder if anyone still has a copy that they would be kind enough to upload please,?I have tried to find a working download location for it for quite a while this morning and it seems now to be no longer available from Oleg's page or anyplace else for that matter!

Perhaps if Oleg could make the link available again from his site?

I too tried the 0.1.9 version a while back when the link was posted, and aside from the font and colour scheme which I couldn't get used to as it kind of hurt my eyes, the CW decoding I found to be very poor, i'd like to try the 0.1.71 version to see how that fares.

Re: Setting up WSJT-X with the X6100 (CAT and USB Audio) #Digital #r1cbu

Over 2 years ?have certainly seen RF issues on the USB and the Coax using EFHW antenna. I almost always run my USB through a toroid a few times to stop issues. I have clip on ferrites on my CW paddle also to stop keyed errors.

No big deal, I have a ?100 Yaesu USB camera microphone for my FT3 that had a clip on ferrite fitted by Yaesu to stop issues. With a well tuned vertical I get no issues though, only on the EFHW

Re: Setting up WSJT-X with the X6100 (CAT and USB Audio) #Digital #r1cbu

The other day, I was testing a new antenna, and I had my touchpad on my Linux computer freeze up during TX from wsjt-x. I realized maybe some current was coming back from the antenna, so I wrapped a few turns of narrow coax through a toroid near the antenna, and it alleviated the problem with the touchpad.

I've also experienced that problem of a high audio occasionally causing the USB connection to drop. Now I wonder if that too was some concrete proof that I needed a current balun in the feed line.?
