Re: battery charge

I took these screen images today of my X6100 discharging. ?Battery indicator shows a full charge, in white, which does not change: no yellow, no red, no ‘count down’ to shutoff.

When charging the green LED just stays on: does not blink.

Re: baseband firmware

I do not know the answer to your question.
That is the exact same information my screen shows, with one exception. ?“BASE” on mine reads “Mar 7 2023, 09:57:03”.

Re: battery charge

I recently purchased the X6100. ?It has the latest software with CAT. ?After four cycles, the LED charging light does not blink; it is steady. ?When operating last time, the battery indicator did not change from white, did not change to yellow, did not change to red, and did not start a countdown before automatic shutdown, as it has previously done. ?Prior to these changes, the charging and onscreen battery indicator acted as the owner’s manual described.

Currently, my X6100 is on its 4th or 5th charge. ?The steady green charging light did not go out during the overnight charging. ?Upon turning the unit on, the battery icon indicates a charge of 8.2V. ?I am taking images of the screen throughout this discharge cycle.

Software Update

Hello to all:

Old guy has some questions and needs some direction.

Enjoy my 6100 and it appears there is a software update available, my 6100 shows this software is installed:
APP: V1.1.6 20221011
Base: V1.16 20221111

Radioddity shows:
Firmware Upgrade 20230831 (fix CAT)
Firmware Upgrade 20230831 (with wFview Guide)
Xiegu X6100 Firmware Upgrade 20221124

My uncertainty which one to use (CAT or wFview) and which one is APP or Base in the above (is Firmware 20221124 the Base) ?

Being a MacOS user, may? Balena Etcher be uses to prepare the SD Card for App and Base install ?

Does it matter which is loaded first; App or Base ?

Thank you for any kind direction, input and assistance.

Re: baseband firmware

Mitch,

Yes, the latest version of the Radioddity copy of the firmware for the X6100 is indeed the ZIP file that you got, that ends in "[fix CAT]." The file that you then download is titled, "Xiegu_X6100_Firmware_Upgrade_20230831.zip" not the one titled "Xiegu_X6100_Firmware_Upgrade_20230807.zip."

When you get it installed properly, the Base should have the date "V1.1.6 Mar 7 2023,09:57:03"

Install the firmware from the SD card using the upgrade instructions in the Firmware Upgrade Tutorial. After you install the firmware from the SD Card in Step I, you need to make sure you are using a 13.8V power supply to power the X6100 before proceeding with Step II. The power supply must have enough current capacity, probably 3 amps or more, to complete Step II successfully. You probably can't use the charger that came with the unit, since on mine at least it only supplies 12.00 volts and about an amp maximum.

If the Base firmware installed correctly, it should have the Mar 7 2023,09:57:03 date.

From what you said in your post and from the picture, you may only need to perform Step II. First, turn off the Charging in the menus. Then turn off the X6100 and attach the 13.8V power supply. Then follow the instructions in Step II.

Hope this works for you,

Jerry K6ANI

Transverter Confusion

First, let me compliment Oleg for all the work he's done to support the X6100.? When I first saw the transverter option I thought (since the radio is SDR) that the radio was capable of actually transmitting on either 144, or 440.? I now come to find that I would need an external transverter to use these bands.? Someone else commented that the use of a transverter was always an option?? Can someone here explain this to me.? Can someone clarify what the settings in the firmware do, and how to use them?

Thanks!

Leonard/WV3P

Hi Oleg,
What power output are you getting on 70cm, with your Transverter,

I fitted a new 50ohm and have not had a problem with it, I also fitted a heatsink for the final output FET as it was getting very hot and reducing the output power,
This is now good, it also has vox tx switching that works well, and a TCXO, I did get it when I had a g90,?
I have not used it with the x6100, yet but now I will,

Oleg, I see this as an extra feature besides the automatic speed function. The way it works now is that with slow morse speed the software is always seeking for dots and dashes in the time between the send characters.

Another possible solution is the function to 'lock' the receive speed and later unlock it if you want. It is a bit fiddly, but it can help in a way.

Yes, Bluetooth audio is what I'm looking for.

Could it be possible to activate the YouTube text translation option to English. I see you explaining many things, but the Russian text is not helping, LOL.

Would be nice to lock the receive speed. I see what you can offer us in the future.

Must be an Android- YouTube thing. I will check another OS to see what is happening with the auto-translation.

Thanks for taking an interest.

This is quite strange, because I turn on auto-translation subtitles and everything works for me.
