Hello, Peter I have been using my 6100 for a few months now running FT-8 mode and I would like to suggest?you add a 12V cooling fan blowing at the bottom of the back of the transceiver. There are cooling fins on Amazon, that if you do not mind the added size will really help dissipate?the transmitter?heat. Reducing the display lighting level will also help to reduce the internal temperature of the 6100. Those are something I have learned these past few months. ? My first FT8 QSO with my X6100 running latest firmware and running 5w ? Cuba on 30m after midnight from UK, I would class that as a win, was only expecting EU ? Couple of observations, ?
? The other interesting point I found I run FLRig had the rig set as X6100 and every 20-30 minutes the display would blank and rig reset?? As some others had reported ? I was having issues getting WSJT-x to talk to FLRig, and tried the IC705, and found nor more screen blank and radio has run flawlessly for 8 hours ? ? Peter M0PWX ? ?
